Amazing news! I only wish it had come so much sooner, as I pre-ordered Galactic Civs 3 and they released it on Steam only at the time.

Ooo, ooo, ooo! Random, complete shot in the dark here and a massive long shot to be sure, but...

Does this mean we might potentially get Demigod on GoG?
nvm

Some of you Stardock guys might want to take a look at this and work something out (the Community Update included with GalCiv2 has not been applied correctly): http://www.gog.com/forum/galactic_civilizations_series/community_guideupdate
And an option/switch to play the latest original version of GalCiv2 would be much appreciated.

telryas: Stardock swore up and down that Steam was it for them going forward and no amount of begging by their fans seemed to influence them. Now they go and change their minds <snip>

Mounrou: Cause, you know... Stardocck. v=_=v
(Pretty much 80% of the reason I don't buy their stuffs is their DRM policies so... Same with Ubi and EA.)
Hmm both of these make me hesitant to buy their games. Seems I'll just have to wait once everything settles and see if anyone has any big issues or complaints on the game. That could mean waiting until the next sale to consider the game(s)...
Now only Microsoft games coming here will surprise me. Welcome Stardock. Hopefully you like pie.

The funny thing is that Stardock was already here with the first Galactic Civilizations.

True, but there was little confidence in them bringing these newer titles. GalCiv3 and Sorcerer King felt like pipe dreams, but I wanted them here. Ashes of the Singularity coming here presumably day 1 is a complete shock to the system, though.
Great news!

Yes, Stardocks new releases DRM-free on day 1... I still can't believe it :-)
Great stuff.
What was that game that they released which was pretty bad?. Forgot the name of it...

ShadowOwl: Sins of a Solar Empire Rebellion: Will GOG users be able to play together with Steam users? If yes, how is that going to work?
avatar
Islanti: Multiplayer communities for GOG games will be separate. We have some plans in the early stages to address this but I can't promise anything.

Was Sins: Rebellion not the expansion pack that, among a big amount of other features, added a big performance boost to the game & super-sized capital ships? Will the gog version of it work with the (non steam) retail version of trinity?

And on a completely different note out of curiosity:
What changed your guys minds to release here? Its awesome, but whenever the "no steam version" topic appeared on the Stardock forums it usually turned into a slugfest till Frogboy swung a "NO" hammer at the end. :P

Rebellion and Trinity have separate multiplayer systems. Trinity has its own built-in multiplayer lobby ("Ironclad Online" IIRC) and unless they've shut it down then connecting is just a matter of having a valid CD-key then creating a user-name. Rebellion uses Steamworks, which is presumably the problem with getting it to "play nice" with Galaxy.
