May the 4th come to GOG.com!

Star Wars Day™ is near, a time when the world comes together to celebrate the long, long history of a galaxy far, far away. And so it is, once again we combine forces with Lucasfilm and Disney to join in on upcoming May the 4th celebrations the way we know best: with new releases, a classic Digital Premiere, and peecha chakka no wookie boonowa tweepi Saleo. Ho, ho, ho, hooo.

What do we have in store this week?

-- Star Wars: Rebel Assault I & II - a new digital premiere. The famous live-action, FMV rail shooter returns - blast through the ranks of the Galactic Empire, revisit familiar movie locations, and experience the rebel assault. Both of the classic titles come in one DRM-free package for Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux!

-- Collector's CD-ROM editions of: Star Wars™ X-Wing and Star Wars™ TIE-Fighter. The space-flight simulators finally become complete exclusively on GOG.com. The Collectors Edition, often considered the absolute re-release, combines upgraded graphics with the classic MUSE sound system, and a refined flight engine. It's a free upgrade to all of you that own it, and comes with every new purchase as well.

-- Star Wars: Jedi Knight II - Jedi Outcast and Star Wars: Jedi Knight - Jedi Academy now on GOG.com. Are these the best lightsaber swingin', force-pushin' simulators ever made? Search your feelings, you know it to be true.

-- Two big bundles, with every remaining Star Wars™ game on GOG.com:
Blaster Bundle - with 7 titles including the upgraded Star Wars X-Wing & TIE-Fighter series, and more Lucasfilm games brought back into the digital world from old CDs and dusty floppy disks.
Saber Bundle - with 10 games at a flat 77% off, including Star Wars Battlefront II, Knights of the Old Republic I & II, the two Dark Forces games, and our two new completely new releases: Star Wars: Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast & Star Wars: Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy.

Grab your blaster, wield your saber, and celebrate the days counting down to May the 4th with us! The entire shebang will last until Thursday, May 7, 6:59 AM GMT.

moonshineshadow: The wording of this is a bit confusing. They mean, that some of the games are 50% off inside the complete bundle, not the complete bundle itself.
avatar
HypersomniacLive: But not a single game has a 50% discount.
That is why I said "inside the complete bundle".
If you select the whole bundle, Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds is 50% as well as Rogue Squadron and Rebellion.

Stupid system and the wording in the announcement is confusing but they are not outright lying about it.

OH. MY. GOG! o_O

IronArcturus: Which game is better: Jedi Outcast or Jedi Academy?
I liked Jedi Outcast more for single player, I won't spoil anything, but I would say the story and characters are superior to Jedi Academy. In terms of multiplayer I liked Jedi Academy more, but either way you can't go wrong with those games. They're terrific.

mobutu: and I'll add: In which order should be played?
The proper order would be Dark Forces->Dark Forces II: Jedi Knight->Jedi Knight: Mysteries of the Sith->Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast->Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy.

Edit: Forgot all about Mysteries of the Sith, as that's pretty important to understand the events between Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II and Jedi Outcast.

McSpain: I honestly don't get the bundle system.
I get 76% off on the Saberbundle but can't see any combination with 50% off the blaster Bundle.

Yeah, that's not just poorly worded. It's deceptive. You can't claim an "up to" discount if there is no situation where you can actually receive that amount off of your purchase. The biggest discount you can receive is buying the whole bundle where you get a 37% off discount. IMHO, that should be the "up to" advertised.
Bit disappointed with the discount... was just ready to (re)buy all the X-Wing saga instantly, but 37 bucks, when I already have all of them (some in multiple copies) is a bit too much.

Cheers for the collector's version added, though

Okay.... decisions, decisions.... now that I've calmed down (a bit at least ;)

I think I'll go ahead and grab the Saber bundle, as it has a better discount, and I'll be able to play KotOR II in a DRM-free version. Also I'm overjoyed to see some new Star Wars releases.

And Rebel Assault... wow, that's rich. (Brings back some bad memories too, Rebel Assault 1 was so hard)

Anyways, thanks to GOG.com and Disney for this awesome sale, and for fulfilling a wishlist entry that I created. ;)

Now, young Skywallet..... you will die.
May The Releasing Force be with you GOG and long live the AntiDRM-fighters!!!
Cool. So many new SW games. Only the bundles are a bit confusing. Are these reductions permanent?

I agree. Jedi Outcast seems to be more mature in terms of story. As for multiplayer, Academy eats the whole series for breakfast :)

Just a little note, you skipped Mysteries of the Sith, the standalone addon for Dark Forces 2, which is kind of important before playing Outcast.
And here are my 2 decided instabuys: Jedi knight 2&3. Wait, for 2 more € I get the whole bundle? well, if you ask me so nicely, I'll get it all.
O___O That Saber Bundle... Nerdgasm.

Now I can finally put to good use the money I didn't spend on that HB bundle. ;)

It's already included in the GOG version of Dark Forces II, though.

I was so happy when I managed to win the first canyon level!
Then I arrived to the "crystal" canyon.. XD

Lol no, in the end I won both RA games, but they're surely quite difficult!

Uhaha
Just noticed that I got Starfighter in the "Saber" bundle. Not complaining but...
