May the 4th come to GOG.com!

Star Wars Day™ is near, a time when the world comes together to celebrate the long, long history of a galaxy far, far away. And so it is, once again we combine forces with Lucasfilm and Disney to join in on upcoming May the 4th celebrations the way we know best: with new releases, a classic Digital Premiere, and peecha chakka no wookie boonowa tweepi Saleo. Ho, ho, ho, hooo.

What do we have in store this week?

-- Star Wars: Rebel Assault I & II - a new digital premiere. The famous live-action, FMV rail shooter returns - blast through the ranks of the Galactic Empire, revisit familiar movie locations, and experience the rebel assault. Both of the classic titles come in one DRM-free package for Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux!

-- Collector's CD-ROM editions of: Star Wars™ X-Wing and Star Wars™ TIE-Fighter. The space-flight simulators finally become complete exclusively on GOG.com. The Collectors Edition, often considered the absolute re-release, combines upgraded graphics with the classic MUSE sound system, and a refined flight engine. It's a free upgrade to all of you that own it, and comes with every new purchase as well.

-- Star Wars: Jedi Knight II - Jedi Outcast and Star Wars: Jedi Knight - Jedi Academy now on GOG.com. Are these the best lightsaber swingin', force-pushin' simulators ever made? Search your feelings, you know it to be true.

-- Two big bundles, with every remaining Star Wars™ game on GOG.com:
Blaster Bundle - with 7 titles including the upgraded Star Wars X-Wing & TIE-Fighter series, and more Lucasfilm games brought back into the digital world from old CDs and dusty floppy disks.
Saber Bundle - with 10 games at a flat 77% off, including Star Wars Battlefront II, Knights of the Old Republic I & II, the two Dark Forces games, and our two new completely new releases: Star Wars: Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast & Star Wars: Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy.

Grab your blaster, wield your saber, and celebrate the days counting down to May the 4th with us! The entire shebang will last until Thursday, May 7, 6:59 AM GMT.

thebream: Thanks - thoguh I wouldve preferred not having to buy Starfiighter to complete the sabre bundle. Should've put that into the blaster pack.

BrandeX: GOG aren't stupid, those packs are specfically divided."Saber Bundle" is the "can buy cheaper elsewhere bundled and frequent sales, if you really wanted to" pack.

"Blaster Bundle" is the "Fairly recent GOG digital exclusive games you can't get anywhere else legally even if you tried" pack.

You can see then why Blaster has less of a discount % than Saber.
Not quite true. Only Rebellion, Roque Sguadron and Galactic Battlegrounds are gog exclusives in the Blaster bundle. Tie and X-Wing games are available on Steam since Star Wars day.

It's only my assumption, but hey - if we have release of such obsolete genre as FMV shooter, I think that it's giving quite a big chance for Episode 1 Racer, as one of the next SW releases on GOG.

By the way - I would like to ask about X-Wing/Tie Fighter series. Don't have any joystick (and probably won't have), I've tried in the past some of the flying simulators, but they were too complicated for me. Is there any sense to buy any of these games? They look quite nice, but if they're too complicated, I think that I should rather stick to games like Rogue Squadron or Starfighter.

And what would you say about SW: Rebellion? I've played once upon a time in Galactic Civilisations and really enjoyed it. Is Rebellion in some way similar to GalCiv? Or maybe simpler/more complicated/totally different style?

Yes, but not the new definitive cd-versions editions ;)
They'll probably be another gog-exclusive for 3/6 months

"You don't need to see your credit card information."

"I don't need to see my credit card information."

"These are not the Star Ward sales you're looking for."

"The hell they ain't. Now, gimme that credit card information before I laser your face off!"

Attractive Star Wars bundles? Check.
Same release day as Steam sale? Check.
Better prices than Steam sale? Check.

Well-played, GOG, well played.

BlackRisingStar: Loving it. Any chance of getting The Force Unleashed 1 and 2. Especially the Sith Edition.
avatar
Grargar: Only the Sith Edition is available on the PC.
Ah okay then, still would love it to come here. Loved those games.
I know it's kinda difficult to run on modern systems, but it would be great to see Shadows of the Empire on GOG
KOTOR has finally found its way back home to me. Looking forward to part II.
'Are Steam sales stronger?'
'No!... Quicker, more mainstream they are. When greed and impatience come it appears. But with GoG you will find peace.'
Just bought the Sabre Bundle :)

Does anyone know why Dark Forces II is not supported in GOG Galaxy? Is it because of the DLC?
avatar
jalister: I've already told my son that there are only 3 Star Wars movies.
avatar
Telika: Sounds suspiciously like saying his dad is dead, and brushing off questions years afterwards with some "well, i meant it symbolically".
To be more clear, I have said 4,5 and 6 are the only ones that matter.

It should now. Please restart the client and check again.

Just tried that. Restarted the client, even logged out and then back in... It just shows 'not supported' and the install button is greyed out. Is it just me?
I'd just like to update that it works on Galaxy now. Thanks!

Pissed away customer goodwill be damned, I just couldn't say no to that Saber Bundle.
Damnit! I unfortunately just lost my job and this isn't in the new budget. I hope these go on sale again, I want that Blaster Bundle so bad!
OK, couldn't resist and did buy the Sabe Bundle. At this price it is a superb compilation.
