May the 4th come to GOG.com!

Star Wars Day™ is near, a time when the world comes together to celebrate the long, long history of a galaxy far, far away. And so it is, once again we combine forces with Lucasfilm and Disney to join in on upcoming May the 4th celebrations the way we know best: with new releases, a classic Digital Premiere, and peecha chakka no wookie boonowa tweepi Saleo. Ho, ho, ho, hooo.

What do we have in store this week?

-- Star Wars: Rebel Assault I & II - a new digital premiere. The famous live-action, FMV rail shooter returns - blast through the ranks of the Galactic Empire, revisit familiar movie locations, and experience the rebel assault. Both of the classic titles come in one DRM-free package for Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux!

-- Collector's CD-ROM editions of: Star Wars™ X-Wing and Star Wars™ TIE-Fighter. The space-flight simulators finally become complete exclusively on GOG.com. The Collectors Edition, often considered the absolute re-release, combines upgraded graphics with the classic MUSE sound system, and a refined flight engine. It's a free upgrade to all of you that own it, and comes with every new purchase as well.

-- Star Wars: Jedi Knight II - Jedi Outcast and Star Wars: Jedi Knight - Jedi Academy now on GOG.com. Are these the best lightsaber swingin', force-pushin' simulators ever made? Search your feelings, you know it to be true.

-- Two big bundles, with every remaining Star Wars™ game on GOG.com:
Blaster Bundle - with 7 titles including the upgraded Star Wars X-Wing & TIE-Fighter series, and more Lucasfilm games brought back into the digital world from old CDs and dusty floppy disks.
Saber Bundle - with 10 games at a flat 77% off, including Star Wars Battlefront II, Knights of the Old Republic I & II, the two Dark Forces games, and our two new completely new releases: Star Wars: Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast & Star Wars: Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy.

Grab your blaster, wield your saber, and celebrate the days counting down to May the 4th with us! The entire shebang will last until Thursday, May 7, 6:59 AM GMT.

So with this promotion, do you have to repurchase games you already own in order to get the full discount? Every other bundle promo GOG has ever done hasn't penalized you for already owning a couple games in a bundle. New policy or some problem with the ordering system?
Very happy to grab a load of DRm-free SW games for a great prce. Just a little sad that Lego SW and TFU are still unavailable. This time next year maybe?

What is your exact situation? Where are you not getting the "full discount"?
+1 to the Machete order. It really is the most enjoyable way to watch the series.

No, you do not have to repurchase them. But sometimes the promo page does not show the games alread ownd properly so you can try to load the promo page again. Then, at the bottom you should see the list with games already owned. The full discount should be applied for the remaiming games.

At least that is what I see. In the saber bundle, I have DFII, the remaing games still have 76% OFF - if I buy all of them.

When i click on one of the bundles, every title is checkmarked, including the ones I already own. If I deselect the titles I already own, then I lose the full bundle discount. With past GOG bundles, my already owned titles are typically greyed out and not-selectable, yet I can still get the full promotional discount on the titles in bundle which I do NOT own. I've attached screenshots to illustrate what's going on.

edit: Cleared my browser cache and now it's behaving normally. Very strange.

I just bought the Saber bundle, in case GOG comes to their senses before I get home. I'm still thinking about the Blaster bundle due to the difference in the discount. It would be an easier decision if it was at least 50%.
The Blaster bundle just isn't enough of a discount. I will definitely be picking up the Saber bundle though. Way too many great games to miss.

Exactly the same situation for me here. The Sabre bundle is $22, the Blaster bundle is $38. The Sabre bundle has all the games I played when I was younger. I never played any of the games in the Blaster bundle. I want the Blaster bundle, but it has to have a better discount. 35% just doesn't seem enough for me to make a large all at once purchase like that. Regardless I was waiting for this May the 4th sale since they released most of these games on GOG a few months ago, I knew we would catch them cheaper for Star Wars day.

Zeeaire: It's harder than you would expect^^
Why is it called like that? Thanks for the tip, always wondered about the right order to begin with. First thing you read when searching for it is something like IV, V, VI, I, II, III.
Never stumbled upon such a confusing way to look a movie series before :o
Maybe I can give a feedback when the long awaited time has come^^
I recommend you to watch the movies in chronological order, beginning with Episode I and finishing with VI. I really love how the story is told along the six: it's just one story separated in six chapters. This is also how George Lucas intended them to be viewed. I think most of the hatred for the prequels is driven by nostalgia, because a lot of people watched the originals as a kid. But all people I know who watched the whole saga for the first time in chronological order really love them all and can't understand why people hate so much the new ones. I even like them more than the originals because I find them much more complex and with a more interesting plot overall.

Wathever the order of viewing you choose, you shouldn't skip Episode I because it has many interesting plot points. Some of them are not obvious the first time you watch it, but when you watch it again after knowing all the story you will probably notice them (and the same thing happens with episode II). I think you souldn't watch the saga in this order: IV-V-VI-I-II-III, because the whole story will seem anticlimathic. That machete order some people recommend (IV-V-I-II-III-VI) is better than that, but the best one for a newcomer, as I already told you, is I-II-III-IV-V-VI. Whatever one you choose, I wish you enjoy them :).

I must have a screw loose because I like E1. In fact I think turning out the lights, turning up the volume, and putting on the pod race is as good as it gets.

That was going to be my next suggestion. The promo page was definitely not detecting that you owned those games but when you got to the checkout screen it was. Very strange indeed. Glad you got it fixed...

1,2,3 just are not good. Actually some of what bothers me about 1, 2, and 3 can be seen in 6. From the ridiculous deaths of Boba Fett and Darth Maul to the silliness of the Ewoks and Jar Jar. I know Boba Fett and Darth Maul are not actually dead according to Lucas, but that was not the intended outcome when we originally saw the movies. I also felt several of the characters were miscast in 1,2,3. I did not feel like anyone was miscast in 4,5,6. I just recently finished watching all 6 seasons of The Clones Wars. I found those to be quite good, so I wouldn't say my dislike for 1,2,3 were nostalgia for 4,5,6.

I guess you didn't hear, Boba isn't dead. No one is saying where or when he will show up but evidently someone from Disney made an official statement that he did in fact get out of that pit.
