Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****
****NO IT'S NOT WHAT ARE YOU DOING YOU CRAZY PERSON

Stoltverd: Please someone....
No one would be so kind?
I'll keep a look out for them.

Senteria: So how long did Lag Keane take this time?
They only had 25 copies this round (thankfully). Took around 10-15 minutes. Real problems have been Eador (around 3 hours), Book of Unwritten Tales (3 1/2-4 1/2 hours), & Thunderscape/Divinity (8-9 hours collectively).
Wanted to actually buy Don't Starve. But If I miss out on that I am still hoping to get BG&E

At least I managed to grab Jade Empire when it first appeared. That one went FAST.
I have to go to bed (work tomorrow) so no Age of Wonders: Shadow Magic for me. I waited so patiently too... =( Hope it shows up in the big Christmas sale.

Ninlil: Edited - obsolete post, forum is too fast :o
It was free for a few seconds ago.

Scratch that, for a few miliseconds ago.

Ninlil: Why Don't Starve for free GOG? why?! :sob: That is just cruel :(.

Bovrillor: I know, I feel like giving up now. I've been here since the start of 'round 3' - that's 23 hours now. Seeing the game you want flash up as an unattainable freebie is a total kick in the nads
I 2nd that notion.
How do activation codes work? How (or where) do you apply them to your account?

book of unwritten tales and Eador are both good games.

I wish I could have bought each one.

I even offered to give my free "The Witcher" GOG code for an Eador game.. but alas....

Below on the main page, redeem code.

Chevette: ... I don't see how it sucks ballz to have a few copies given away for free during a sale where you get things dirt cheap anyway. Just because most people won't get the freebie doesn't mean the whole thing sucks.
avatar
Cardian: That's just a human problem. If there were no freebies, this would be a great sale for everyone. It's like giving someone a buck. He's happy when you do that. Until you give someone else 5 bucks. Then the first person is angry, because he only got the one buck, although it was free.
If there were no freebies in the mix, people wouldn't be waiting here, watching the ticker go down for hours at a time... :P
Totally off-topic, but I seriously cannot go to Youtube anymore. It locks up my browser in less than a minute. Could it be a problem with my DNT's?
On the plus side the slowest sellers are past, after AquaNox 2 things should speed up fairly decently.

TurnipSlayerr: Hey guys, If a game shows up as free in this last run but hasn't been on sale a third time it will come on sale again. Am I correct that it says "last chance" for free games? Cause that's not accurate for games which haven't been on sale three times.
There is still hope! (and no sleep)
