Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****
****NO IT'S NOT WHAT ARE YOU DOING YOU CRAZY PERSON

Captain_Picard: Has Deus Ex GOTY edition been on sale yet?
I have had that on my wish list for a few months now and I can't wait to get it.
avatar
Flam3crow: It actually has been.
Is there a chance it will go back on sale?

DubConqueror: 3. Walk to the far oceanic coast from where you're living and grab a sandwich there, then hike home.

El_Caz: I live in the republic of Panama. The Pacific ocean is a mere few minutes away, while the atlantic ocean is a whole... two hours away.

*edit: Driving, of course.
Might be able to do that before Jack Keane's 100 copies are gone in a non-joking way.

I've got nothing to top off giving birth, raising a kid and see him turn into a game developer that makes a better game though.

Fictionvision: The games wont be out of stock because that is kind of impossible with digital goods. These are just temporary price cuts where after they sell so many they go back to regular and another game comes along.

ozzyoscy: Don't retailers, such as GoG, buy keys or a set number of 'stock' when selling digital games? There are games that have been removed from digital retailers, I've seem games on Steam become unavailable.
GOG games don't have keys unless its for multiplayer access. Even then I'd imagine as long as they have the rights to sell it they will and add the key later on once they get more from the dev.

Khaleesia87: Can we actually buy games as "gifts" and then use for ourselves?

I mean GOOD games are going out very fast that we dont even have the chance to open the page to read the reviews/genre of it so using the gift option would be wise in order to trade it later BUT can we use the code to ourselves as well? I mean in case we decide that we want the game and change our mind about trade.

I always bought games without the gift option and never though of how much useful it can be =D
Yes. I do that.
CAN WE HAVE THE NEXT GAME, PLEASE!
Given how many pages of replies there are, I'm probably not the only one to complain about this, but I really really hate these "first come first serve" things that GOG does. First it was just with contests, which I probably wouldn't have been fast enough for anyway, but now discount sales too? :-(

I'm just finding out about this near the end of the day because of my schedule. I really hope Jack Keane 2 isn't the end, and I get to see more, because it doesn't seem to be selling at all.
Come on GOG, take that game out of there (Jack 2).... You'll never sell them...
No one wants Jack Keane 2. Does the sale just end if no one buys the 83 copies being offered?

Think Select to gift this order is the option to use

No, why would it?
I've been out for a while, has Geneforge re-appeared as a free game?
avatar
Zera: At 1 copy being sold every 5 minutes, it's going to take over 7 hours. That's ASSUMING it continues selling at all.
avatar
kt21: I would say 1 copy sold every 15-20min by the looks of it so far.
It's pretty much stuck. Nobody wants to buy it anymore, and GOG should take notice of this and move on the next offer.
avatar
Vestin: I wonder if Jack will still be here when I wake up ;P...
Probably.

We don't know, but if the sale is set to end at a specific time and this game never sells more than 83 more copies... yes, this is the end.
Next game on sale will probably be Jack Keane 1
