Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****
****NO IT'S NOT WHAT ARE YOU DOING YOU CRAZY PERSON

Why am I still up? Probably because I hope for another freebie or something. Don't really know to be honest ^^

dsross: For me there's a lot of classic games that I missed back in the day. Once upon a time I couldn't afford to buy more than one or two $80 games a year. Most games of the 90s I only ever played demos of. Later on it wasn't worth chasing down a second hand copy of a game that was a) out of date and b) not guaranteed to even work any more. Then along came digital distribution...
Same here: played a lot of demos.. couldn't afford a lot of them.. or I'd borrow them..

wanderlust76: Hahah I never did finish Adventure now that you mention it. Now there's something to put on my bucket list lol.

Khalaq: I'm referring to the old graphic adventure game on the 2600, not the older text adventure which was also known as The Colossal Cave.
I remember playing that on the 2600 both that game and others plus consol are still with my daughter in UK

ChadMRogers: Dumb Question but what games are still left? I went back several pages to see if it's been posted but this thread is soooo long it's impossible to search

justanoldgamer: Expeditions: Conquistador $4.99
Psychonauts $2.49
Spellforce Platinum $2.49
Thief 2: Metal Age $1.99
I think we all know that Thief 2 is going to fly but I am worried about the other three. They all may take a while.

Minmataro: How many of you guys are actually new to PC gaming? Like you made the jump from this console generation (360,PS3) to PC and now are just discovering the classics on GoG?

I ask because a lot of the questions and "look what i bought" lists are of games that anyone gaming the last 5-10 years probably has or had.

Im not trying to say anything bad just kind of curious.
Before 97, it was NES, SNES, & GB (with the occasional Genesis and Sega CD).

Started gaming regularly on the PC in 97, as that is when I got my first pc ever. However, even before then I got some mags that reviewed console games and had pc games and advertisements in them, so I was exposed to some of what was there. I still remember seeing the Gabriel Knight 1 PREVIEW (little more than a single column excerpt with a couple of screenshots) and thinking: "This is awesome - I need to get this one day!". Then, when I got my PC a few years later I was fortunate enough to get not long after the bundle of GK 1 & 2.

My first ever PC games that I bought specifically to play on said PC? 7th Guest / 11th Hour bundle and Imperium Galactica (man did that box label make the game sound so awesome!?!).

Based on these games, Thief 2 will probably be the last game in the sale.

Depends on how many copies they put up. The Great Keane himself flew in round 3, since they only put up 25 copies.
