Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****
****NO IT'S NOT WHAT ARE YOU DOING YOU CRAZY PERSON

groze: I have at least three copies of Soul Reaver and I'm nabbing another one right now. You should too.
^ Listen to this user, he's a legend. Extra weight, unbelievable guy - 10/10
Thanks to this sale for getting me to actually play games in my library!!! After I went nuts during this sale and bought a bunch of new stuff, I felt so guilty I actually installed and started playing a few. Maybe I'll finally start making progress through the backlog of stuff I have :D

groze: I can't recommend Soul Reaver enough, guys. This game truly is a sapphire (why not specify the gem itself? I'm getting tired of reading everything is a "GEM" over the internet).

I having Shadow Man decided to take your advice and picked up Soul Reaver. Never played both. Thanks!

stevieknix: Vagrant Story? That the one where you're investigating the ruined city?
avatar
Schemilix: You're Riskbreaker Ashley Riot (the guy with his arse hanging out) investigating Leá Monde and chasing some shirtless dude around and fightin' dragons and pushing boxes around, yeah.
vagrant story...somehow never managed to upgrade/specialize my weapons and armor efficently, so after a short while I nearly never hit monsters anymore which made me surrender soon ^.^ anyway I never came along with any of those jrpgs...
Come on Legacy of Keane
And all this talk about Vagrant Story makes me want to buy it off PSN. I loved that game! I also loved Wild Arms!

EX-Deimon: Yes. Last time i used one was about 3 years ago and I played games like Xenosaga fine. You do need a rather decent PC, though. You can also make the graphics look much better than the original PS2 game. Dunno if they've updated it or not, but if they have, it should run better on PCs nowdays.

ReynardFox: There is still a lot of work to do, but some games run pretty much flawlessly now, God of War 2 in 1080p is particularly striking. Some games are still broken or flawed, they still haven't found a proper solution to non-progressive scan screen shaking though and you still need a beast of a PC. The requirements will most likely only go up as it develops as the more accurate to hardware it gets the more processing power it will require. Hell a cycle accurate SNES emulator requires a 3ghz CPU.
I can agree with that. The God of War HD remakes were really nice. It's been one of my fav series since the original PS2 release.

Schemilix: It's punishing. I haven't defeated the final boss yet.
avatar
stevieknix: I remember getting to the dragon in the forest maze. Took me a few tries to beat him.

God, that combo system.
Chain arts? I loved those.
Since this game is not moving, I guess I can get up and stretch!

groze: To all story fans, action adventure fans, exploration fans, puzzle fans, voice acting fans out there: this is one title you shouldn't be missing.
+1....00000000

the_bard: Come on Legacy of Keane
Kain...Keane...Kain...Keane... this is no coincidence. This truly is the Legacy of old Jack. He's haunting us.

Oh dear.
I didn't expect a Legacy of Keane to occur, but it seems I was wrong. The game will take another hour or 2 to sell it seems.

GhostwriterDoF: Is it a third party software package or did Sony release their own?

EX-Deimon: Emulation sites. Look around it's not difficult to spot ;DDD
Already browsing the search... :P

If my PS2 breaks down I'll have to try one of these emulators... Though I won't be able to transfer my old saves for Gran Turismo 3 to the PC.
Come on Soul Reaver... I almost finished cleaning my apartment in they time this is running... go faster...
Which of the remaining upcoming games (Including Legacy of Kaine) do you consider a "Must play"?
