Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****

GhostwriterDoF: I watched someone play it, and it didn't seem to me to be an RTS in the traditional sense, you should watch a gameplay video to see for yourself.

dedoporno: It is not RTS (you mean real-time strategy, right?). It's more of a action adventure. I got it from a Humblebundle, but still haven't got the chance to play it more than 30 minutes.
I'm just going by the reviews of the game on GOG where some people are claiming that the last part is rts

Chandoraa: Kind of unfair that Keane is taking all the heat when there were several other notorious stallers around. I'm looking at you, Hotline Miami ¬¬. I'll still stick to keaning around, since it's fun XD.
You bring up an excellent point too. :) One game yesterday stalled the sale for 7 hours if I'm not mistaken. I can't remember what it was, and don't think anyone turned it into a meme either. ;)

Update: It was Retro City Rampage and it was 8 hours according to someone else.

Hey people we should start to popularize the term "Keaned" to say you are stuck on the internet seeing some progress bar.

WE SHOULD MEME IT!!!!!

stevieknix: I just want Thief and Thief 2, is that so much to ask?
In this Insomnia sale, it is much, but not too much... heh

For the best discounts, you have to wait for one of the two big yearly sales on GoG, Christmas and Summer sales, or wait for the games to pop up in one of the regular weekly sales... so waiting for the discounted prices is part of the game either way... :/

Cardian: It actually pulls a Monty Python and turns into an RTS later on. And now for something completely different.
What have You used for that? A dead parrot?

That's why you say it's an action adventure game. Further in the game it does become sort of an RTS, and that's my only issue with the game. Brütal Legend is otherwise amazing, but if you're a Double Fine action adventure fan, the RTS sections may put you off. They're not even that fleshed out or polished, even...

I'd strongly recommend watching a gameplay video beforehand, though I still think the game is awesome, if you look past those minor flaws.

dedoporno: A couple of factors should be considered here.

If I remeber correctly JK2 had 60% discount which means it was offered at $11.99.

RCR was at $3.74 (was it?), which is around three times cheaper.

JK2 sold 100 copies in 5 hours - roughly 20 copies per hour.
RCR sold 600 copies in 8 hours - roughly 75 copies per hour.

If you compensate the price difference you'll get around 25 copies per hour for RCR which isn't so far from JK2.

Cardian: But then you also have to consider that being in round two and having sold fewer copies before, the saturation on Keane was much lower and therefore it had a bigger chance to move faster ;)
I think I'm uncomfortable with analysing the Prime Keaning and the Retro Keaning to determine that the Prime Keaning is greater. This should be an article of faith.

Maybe you should trademark it first ;) Sell T shirts, coffee mugs...haha
Kain is no sparkling twilight vampire, he's a bad ass. Get this title and have fun. It's actually pretty good. Although it is the second one in the series it doesn't matter. The first one is lost in a legal battle but this one is better.

Alien8n: Ah dammit. If anyone wants to be especially nice pick up a copy of Thief Gold for me. I'll paypal it across when I get back (unless Thief Gold still hasn't shown in the next 3 hours).

Right off to a job interview, see you in about 3 hours :)
Give 'em hell!

Noot! Noot!

Yeah getting Legacy of Kain: Blood Omen would be nice.
