Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****

gscotti: Well, you may be right. It should be kept in mind that Omerta was supposed to be offered with 300 copies this time around, but they realized the horror that would cause, and moderated it. Same as with the 3rd round of Jack Keane 2, when they were supposed to offer 750 but instead offered only 25. Which was brilliant.
I think JK2 was supposed to sell 150, not 750 copies.

itchy01ca01: Im curious about NWN Diamond. Is it a must have like Planescape or NWN2 or BG?
NWN has older graphics, so it's not as pretty. That's not why people buy it, though.

NWN Diamond is good as a package, with only the first campaign being slow, but it's the community around NWN that makes it worth getting. If you know how many mods there are for NWN2, multiply that a few times to understand what is still available for NWN.
I wonder how the free ones are chosen, I mean, it seems some of the games out of the run also appear as free later.

LeonardoCornejo: To tell the truth, I realy missed Megabyte Punch, to bad I have not much to offer, I hope it somehow appears again ._.
I mean, the free ones seem to be rather random.
GoG has regular sales every week, and two big sales a year, the Christmas sale and the Summer sale, not counting other offers that pop up, like this sale, so at the least you would have to wait awhile for the games you want to go on sale.

The sales are also good for introducing people to games in the GoG catalog that you might not be aware are here, even for the veteran GoG community members... :)

123MGS456: Hey, I'd love BG1 if you still have it?

Fuin: Check your PM.
Hey, thanks!

nijuu: Yeah look at how long (800?) copies of Dont Starve took to sell and that was arguably one of the better indie titles on offer (Rogue Legacy aside - how many were up in last chance?)
I never saw Don't Starve of Rogue Legacy in this sale. I did read the complaints though about DS here and there. RL didn't have any complaints as far as I saw. So might have had to do with the number of copies too in accordance to the price.

NWN does have bitchin hair and clothing physics in it though xD

Chevette: Sadly, it has gone now. Sorry about that!

Hope folks enjoy their gifts, and be nice to each other :)

Xiko91: I wanted BG1. Couldn't get it since I wasn't at the computer. When did it appear? :(
About half an hour ago. I was gonna get extra copies of that too, but was too busy to give you and 123MGS456 Torment gifts ;)

RichterSnipes: The system...it's learning!
Clearly it is, but it's not perfect: who could have predicted that 900 copies of such a perfectly nice game as Ultima: Underworld, at only $1.49, would be keaning so brutally?
avatar
kaszman1: Very combat oriented and linear. Basicly no choices to make, but the party management, the beautiful artwork makes it worth buying. And the music!!! OMG, the music. I could listen to it for days...
avatar
CorranHorn: Yes, the music is awesome and the artwork still is impressive, I would buy it without a doubt if I didn´t already own it (bought it when it was released and then as a complete package with ID 2).

Didn't Peter Stormare do voicacting for IWD2. Reason enough to buy the english Version.
sigh just woke up 7am here and both BG1 and PST are gone :(

rakius300: Survived Keane and Omerta by hamboning.
LOL

I forgot we used to do that. )
