It seems (at least for me) that the reply function for the threads aren't working properly. Unless GOG made some recent changes, which I can't imagine them doing in the middle of a major sale event.

So here's what's happening:

I replied to a post in the https://www.gog.com/forum/general/amazon_prime_games_and_drm thread.

And it came out like this: https://www.gog.com/forum/general/amazon_prime_games_and_drm/post409

If you ever replied to a post, you'll notice the difference right away.

Same thing happened in this thread: https://www.gog.com/forum/general/the_moment_youve_been_waiting_for_gog_winter_sale_is_here_6d80a

Someone replied to post I made in that thread and I got the "Unread" message going to the "Forum replies" page. But the their actual reply post was missing my section of the post they replied to. If that makes sense, since it's hard to explain lol.

Anyway, is anyone else experiencing this issue or similar issues when replying to other GOG users?

You mean the vertical lines?
I've seen it in the past.
I think, this also happened to one or two of my posts.
Has probably to do with how you edited your reply.
That looks like something messed up with the nesting of quote tags. Normally it goes only two deep, as in

quote_x
quote_y
quoted text y
/quote
quoted text x
/quote
reply text

and a reply to that post, call it post z, would be

quote_z
quote_x
quoted text x
/quote
quoted text z
/quote
reply text

That definitely doesn't fit that bill, so something got messed up with the tags, and can't say whether it's the forum software or something you did.

Yes, the lines are one part of it. But the vertical line issue is a new one for me though.

Here's a post someone that replied to to my post above theirs, but for whatever reason, the original post (mine, not the OP GOG one) that they replied to is not reflected in their post. Like how you replied to me, my post (the snipped version) is part of your reply post, which is how it should work.

Unless they changed how Unread messages appear, it seems the person above used the reply function to my post above it. Unless they edited out my entire post. Now that I think about it, this issue has been there a while I think.

As far as my edits, it was a pretty standard reply w/o me actually doing any edits. Which I would normally do it it was a really long post. In this case no edits were done, it was a straight reply.
.
Edit:
Like this reply worked just fine and I didn't edit anything here either. So, no issue this time.

That's a very detailed reply and I understood only a bit of it lol. As far as my end, I didn't edit any of the replies this time. So, it sounds like a forum issue, though I have no way to confirm this of course.

First the Redeem system issues and now this. Maybe GOG is making some changes or testing something on various parts of their site? Of course this is all speculation.
.
Edit:
This reply to you worked fine as well. No issue this time either.

Ah, I see...you get a "reply" notification, but without someone quoting you?
Yeah - I have those also quite often.

I don't know how that's done, but I assume, that person did initially have a quote of you in their reply, but then deleted it?

Never tried it myself, honestly, because I don't see the point of alerting people to a reply of me, without me actually replying with a quote...

Exactly, thank you for putting it into words for me lol.

Yeah, I never tried that myself either.

Let's give it a try.
I "replied" to your post, but deleted the complete quote.

Oops, try one more time, I went too fast and closed the tab before I fully checked how your reply appeared lol.

Second try...
Yes, I got 1 Unread reply to my post.

Sending you one now as well. I deleted the quotes to your reply post.

Yepp...apparently, that's how this works. :)

I think I understand what you mean now. Either that person did some weird or extensive editing or GOGs forum system couldn't handle that number or quotes.

Either way, it's beyond me. I even updated my reply to that post for a different reason and it ended up in the vertical lines lol. It's beyond me, so time for me to drop it haha.

Afaik, the reply notification is triggered by hitting the reply button, not by putting a quote in the post. So you can hit reply, delete the quoted post, and the person WILL get a notification, or you can hit new post, or reply to another post, add a quote to a different post manually, and that person will NOT get a notification.
@lupineshadow
Wow, that was weird, I couldn't even reply to your post until I removed everything. I'm guessing cause you edited it further after your reply and remove the /quote part?

Yeah, I've only ever hit reply and then snipped the post I was replying to to make it shorter. I don't think I manually added any quote functions, not that I recall anyway.
