So, here's the question I feel like asking: What are the worst random drops you've encountered in any video games you've played or seen?
The laser in Contra.
I got a rock.

One of the group boss battles in the Star Wars mmo i used to play, I got two of the same chest pieces. I had clicked on it, saw it pop up again, assumed that I had just misclicked and clicked on it again. I tried to give it away but my fellow players were more interested in *cough* expressing their annoyance at me than trying to fix the issue.
Weopons that you can't equip. I don't mean weapons for another class, or that your aren't strong enough or a high enough level to equip, but weapond sthat arent weapons, like a hobgoblin spear or a thief's knife dropped as a trophy item instead of a weapon.
Ever played worms from team 17 and got a random drop and when you got it it exploded lol.

Okay, never heard of that. XD That's too funny.
Sacred Gold - Sped through to start the third or fourth difficulty setting, and found I was about 20-30 levels too low to equip anything any of the monsters dropped from that point on. Yeah, fuck that.

Does getting a mimic instead of a regular chest o' loot count?
X-Men Legends had a drop bug where 3/4 of the way through the game drops stopped. There were supposedly fixes for it but I tried them all and none worked. I was never able to finish the game.

We have a winner. What drop could be worse?

Seriously, those are the worst when enemies are chasing you and you're short on health. I'm of course, talking about a platformer that does this.

Nah, not unless the Mimic drops crappy loot. See, that's just an example of your loot being protected by a puzzle. A puzzle that can be solved by stabbing it.

Minsc approves.

Depends on your level. Mimics can be pretty badass...

Maybe if it happens randomly, but not if the mimic is in a fixed location, or is not a drop in the first place.

Wouldn't it depend on the area the chest is in, not the player's level?

(Final Fantasy 5, near the end, has one particularly strong monster in a box that is likely to lead to a game over the first time a new player reaches that chest.)
