catpower1980: ???? Where? I went to the 3 games pages and didn't see any promo package :(

stg83: You have claim it through the website now instead of directly on Steam. Go to the following link and click Redeem, email required.

Well, I'm not gonna get this one then as the e-mail will clearly be used for matketing purposes :(

Gonchi: So you have to give them your e-mail and sign up for a newsletter? Fuck that then.
I'm amazed there are people bitching about signing up nowadays. For free games no less.

lol.
I just used one of my throwaway e-mail addresses, made solely for sucking in all the newsletter spam.
Did someone actually got the email with the codes for the second pack? I did get the confirmation email, but not the codes email. :(

Well, let's hope for the best, then.
low rated
Problem is, they are giving out the EU or USA version, not the *Japanese* of those games. As everyone of the old times present here now, knows very well, that ALL worldwide releases had undergone censorship, especially the Streets of Rage series, to the point that 3 ended up becoming a totally different game, scenario-wise and gameplay content-wise. War story and general captive changed entirely and even some stages were differentiated from the original, Japanese version. 1 had Blaze and female enemies cover up much exposed skin inside new redesigned outfits, while 2 censored among other things, Mr.X's puffing cigar and glass of wine... 3 even went so far as to entirely remove Ash boss or him being used as playable character with cheat.

Emulator legality aside, Sega charges a lot of money for only but a handful of games, among which not even the entire Sega Genesis/Mega Drive complete collection resides. Having to spend a lot of money to get something which is not complete, both by number of titles and/or the censored versions even worse, isn't something "funny". Even for a gift, the integrated in Steamworks emulator, for me, it had worse performance than the ones i have been using all those years; plus those allow you to tamper with settings, experiment and generally reach more desired results on running games smoothly. Plus, the "legal" sega content is bound to Steam, too...

I got the gift, then removed the games. After beating Golden Axe once. It is nowhere near the normal emulation, movement seemed sloppy to me, terrain had glitches (1st stage wilderness for example didn't allow you to go to the most downwards point for quite some distance after beginning, etc). I didn't even register to receive Streets of Rage 2, it is the censored version. And i have the Streets of Rage Remake already! An excellent game, far better than what garbage Sega releases lately, or even worse, refuses to (i mean, they cancelled the official golden axe remake and disbanded the studio behind it, even though the alpha presentation seemed promising as hell)!

If you like Streets of Rage series, a great old classics one, just go get the Streets of Rage Remake v5.1! It is going to rock you, hard! Plus, its SorMaker mod, the Streets of Rage 3 Faithful remake, contains the exact original story from japanese version, in english even, too...

Getcomposted: Nope, not giving Sega my email address - no more spam!
Unless it actually is (strange) meat in a can...
Its got some funk to it. Probably wouldn't question it if you grew up on it.

Those poor Koreans have the stuff in their Mcdonalds I hear.

Hey! I resemble that remark!
I did grow up with spam. ;) Cut into slices and fried, with tomato ketchup and chilli sauce.
Still nummy today.

Because you tasted the chili sauce and ketchup (when is ketchup not made with tomatoes?) and not the gelatinous funk that spam tends to have.

Now if you excuse me I'm going to eat some Kraft Dinner!
