KiNgBrAdLeY7: Meh, just get the Golden Axe Trilogy as Genesis Roms already and grab the latest version of the Sega Multi Machine emulator or something!!! Sega has no right to sell them in the first place... They are EMULATED goodies! And their emulator (if any, or if incorporated in steam version of their games) isn't either the latest version, or the best one (there are many for each console). Plus, EMULATORS ARE AND SHOULD REMAIN FREE! No one has a right to charge them for money.-

darthspudius: So why not pirate them instead... like a dick! I'm not saying no to another copy of Golden Axe.
Me too, i didn't say no to it and regret it! Steam version of Golden Axe has sloppy and choppy movement, when compared against the emulated one! It was a disgrace! My most beloved game ever became the reason for me to explore and discover the wonderful service called: "Remove your game from steam account"! It's just that simple! Its Steam version is trash!

Repeat, do yourself some good and to the game some justice! Emulator + Rom = win/win!

Off Topic (well, actually it is on topic)

Thanks pal, +1 for the TC.

Now, you can continue your exchange of opinions that won't change the fact that now I own 3 more games in my backlog catalog.

darthspudius: So free games on GOG, Origin etc are not free too right?
The difference is in the license.
With the software acquired through Gog, you can keep the archives or 'snapshots' legally even if your account is deleted or terminated.

According to the Steam Subscription Agreement, it appears you DO NOT PURCHASE the license.
The moment something happens to your steam account, you can not legally continue to use any software which have been delivered through this service, due to its subscription based 'software as a service' philosophy.

Okay, but what does that have to do with the "free" part? A free limo ride is still free, even if you don't get to keep the limo...
A good friend of mine notified me of this, but still thanks for the heads up.

Free Jet Set Radio, now that's generous.

EDIT: Jeez, guys, you just HAVE to devolve any thread involving the Great Vapor into a.. well, you know.

Unfortunately, people here will complain virtually anything related to Steam.

Even when Steam gives 10.000.000 USD for charity they'll complain.

To use the car analogy, i personally prefer to buy and keep the car and use it whenever i please - especially when the total cost of 'ownership' is roughly the same as the same brand and model rental car :p
Thanks for the heads up

Cyraxpt: Oh, i thought this was only for those that were playing the games involved in the event, that's cool. Hope that they add Condemned in the following prizes...

snowkatt: condemend would be cool
I hope Condemned: Criminal Oranges suffices... http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2016-02-16-jet-set-radio-golden-axe-and-hell-yeah-are-free-on-steam

Quote: "In two days Sega will also give away Binary Domain, Streets of Rage 2, and Condemned: Criminal Oranges."

And someone said these ones would be added in the next 96 hours:
Viking: Battle for Asgard
Renegade Ops /w DLC
Gunstar Heroes

dreamcups: Sega made some great games in the past. Now i really hope they make some remakes of their best forgotten gems in the future, and release it for pc.
Well, don't hold your breath until then, if ever... Sega Australia was working on an official remake of Golden Axe, but they cancelled it and they closed off this branch. Alpha version gameplay seemed very sweet, though. Then, an amateur group of people worked seven years straight on Streets of Rage Remake, they released a game on par, even if not better to the originals, with a plethora of mods and even the program to make or modify YOUR OWN MODS, for free and Sega forced them to stopped distributing, because the game is a gem and put them to shame.

Sega is a b*tch, really. And totally unrelated to the glorious sega of the epic, faraway gone by now, past.

Hell, i would kill for official Golden Axe and Streets of Rage reboot, DAMN! Or shinobi.

Thanks, saw this in my activity feed on Steam as well, it seems Condemned is part of the free games, too bad you cant redeem that game as a german. Well, Jet Set Radio alone is pretty awesome so its not that bad. :D

I though that the Sega Megadrive classics pack was included in the 'bundle" but only Golden Axe appeared in my library ? Is it normal ?

Yeah, it is. The stinking crooks sell each and every game independently at 2,50 euros apiece, outside of package or sales offer. While all of them in emulator sites are free and not only that, with emulator you tamper with, they have a far better and more stable performance...

yes
the game is part of the megadrive classics pack so the whole thing appears in your library but you only have acces to goldenaxe

its basically a glorified rom and emulator deal
