Science Fantasy for me.

No particular reason why, I just like the concept of magic and technology existing side by side.
Can't wait for Tides of Numenera.
For games and movies, I like both. When it comes to books however, I'm far more into sci-fi than fantasy.
Science Fiction. You can just DO so much more with it. Don't get me wrong, I love fantasy, but there's just something about good Sci-Fi that can blow the best fantasy out of the water.
I'd characterise myself as "high fantasy RPG PC fan" to boot.

Meaning I recognize Tolkien defined forever concepts such as "mithril" and "orc" - but I also love later sassy take on it, Pratchett or Gaiman in particular.

"Medieval" to me implies rather brutal values. High fantasy - renessainece, maybe?
It depends on my mood so the former, the latter, or neither of them.
Dark medieval fantasy. Ie: Malazan Book of the Fallen, Black Company or with small reservations The Sword of Truth series.
Medieval settings remind us of the past. We like the past because it's familiar, and simpler than the present, and we like medieval fantasy because it shows us the past we wish for - with both the lure of the familiar and the lure of the exotic.
I love good sci fi settings, such as Star Trek, Blade Runner, Bab 5, etc., but fantasy a bit more so because once you figure out the factions and maybe the magic system it's easy to get into.
I like sci-fi stories like A Song of Ice and Fire/Game of Thrones.
It depends on my mood. But you can have both! See Shadowrun!

This. Shadowrun is probably my favorite Cyberpunk setting. High Tech, Low Life, Magic Madness, Corporation, Politics.

I enjoy anything that's managed to create a convincing world. LOTR, Shadorwun, DnD (neverwinter night, haven't play baldurs gate yet), Deus Ex, etc
I love me some Sci Fi....but Fantasy is just so ,uch better.

More down to earth, more organic, and at times more epic and dramatic.

I am especially bothered that when it comes to Space Faring Sci Fi they rarely treat planets as WHOLE PLANETS.

Medieval mostly. I will say the Mass Effect setting is probably my third favorite fictional setting though.
I prefer Science Fiction to medieval fantasy, and also prefer modern fantasy to medieval fantasy.
By modern I mean from 19th century to now. From Mary Shelley's Frankenstein to Kim Harrisson's The Hollows series.

Of course Frankenstein is at the frontier of Science Fiction and Fantasy.

I like medieval fantasy but it's not my first choice. That goes for literature, movies and games.
Both. I love Mass Effect, Oblivion, Skyrim, Witcher. ^_^
SciFi.. At least for fiction or movies. For games, I could take either so long as it's a good game.

Fantasy, while I loved it as a teenager, usually doesn't have much in the way of anything more than adolescent depth to it. SciFi often combines speculation about the trajectory of mankind, how technology affects it, and philosophy regarding it. IE - Deeper thought.

Fantasy too often becomes histrionic silly puerile power struggles often involving some wizard or <insert scary race here>. Not that SciFi never does that (looking at you Babylon 5 & Deep Space 9), but with fantasy it's practically a given. Even "Game of Thrones" seems like a high-school drama set in medieval times involving a bunch of immature people trying to out-backstab each other. Zero-Sum-Game mentality does not impress me. Star Trek : TNG and The Outer Limits even more so at least explored some good philosophical territory.

There is dark fantasy like "Elric of Melnibone" or "The Black Company" that combines a much grittier backdrop with more realistic adult themes in a fantasy setting, but series like those two are rare. Most fall into trope-ville with a bunch a characters who I can't help but feel were born yesterday, written for people who also were.
