I thought many of the recent threads have been very interesting and many of those kindled my interest in series that I took for granted. So I thought I'd share some info on this game as well and spread the love.

Salt and Sanctuary is a Dark Souls inspired 2d pixel art game with a robust combat system and a similar story telling style to the souls series. And no, the ''art style'' isn't a selling point the developers push, and the game's main shtick seems to be robust combat mechanics and weapon variety. Its developed by a 2-dev husband and wife indie studio called SKA studios.

The game is currently in exclusivity period on PS4 but will be out on PC in June, as per the devs Someone create a wishlist entry BTW, I'm too lazy.

Superbunnyhop did a review : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EyDuRUiNqgI

Seems promising. Thoughts?
The wishlist already existed (in fact, two of them), and I had already voted.
Salt & Sactuary

Great looking game, pretty interesting, but will they want a release on GOG?
If they're plan was to get major revenue from PS, then hopefully they'll have no problem with releasing it here.

Its seems very interesting to have these kinds of souls like games coming out. If I remember correctly, another one called Dark Maus is already out on steam. Although these games don't have the production values and budget, I think a trend of mechanically strong games with less experimented upon narrative systems is good for innovation.
Superbunnyhop's review sold me on this game.
I think it looks pretty good. As they say, "there is nothing new under the sun", but borrowing from other ideas and creating new ones that become a great mix I like.

I'd buy this game.
Why not provide a link to webpage for people who might be interested in the game?

Dark Souls and pixel art. You literally could not make this game sound any less appealing to me if you covered it in plague rats and set it on fire.

It did cross my mind while writing the post but I didn't know they had a page for this game specifically. I visited their website earlier and it seemed like a blog. I meant to link it anyway but forgot.

Yes, pixel art is cancer to me as well. I only watched the videos and ended up wanting to get this after knowing it was souls inspired. Glad it isn't like the eternal retro inspired 2D platformer.

And souls is a good game as any to clone, since it has to have either good mechanics or an interesting narrative style.

Mr.Caine: Superbunnyhop's review sold me on this game.
I saw VaatiVidya's video a few months ago and was patiently waiting from then. I think it was the first video of the game on youtube. Glad I found it.

I just heard about this release recently, it looks interesting, plus I love Ska Studios' games. Voted, hope it finds it's way here.
Looks great, love the art style, the dark souls reference is lost on me tho...
Voted for it, if that even has any effect.
Released on Steam today it seems : http://store.steampowered.com/app/283640

Dev says GOG release isn't off the table : http://steamcommunity.com/app/283640/discussions/1/357286033299915474/
I actually prefer the art before the dark souls reference. One less dimension likely means it's simpler to play but I don't know, it probably has grinding and long between checkpoints.
I hope it finds its way here eventually.
This looks awesome. I play very few platformers anymore, but I'd probably want to try this one!
Glad I waited (was about to get the PS4 version). Hope there's a GOG release, and hopefully soon instead of a few months/years later.
