Hi,

I would like to get some advice one which RPG should I get for my Android tablet?

I am currently deciding between one of the FF series or the Dragon Quest series since I've never played either of them before. I would also appreciate advice on which game to start with?

Thank you and have a good week.
Matter of taste. I'd say Shadowrun Returns because it's turn based and pretty decent, but I also played some KOTOR, FF4 and Baldur's Gate, and they are all okay. I can give you more of my impressions if you're interested. (Note: I've yet to finish an RPG on Android.)

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.

I've already got shadowrun returns and DF on my PC. Same for baldur's gate and kotor.

May I know why you've yet to finish an rpg on the android? Is it because of the controls?
Go with Final Fantasy V.

It should have great gameplay, story, music, everything. Just keep in mind this costs $16 a pop; but then you get the full game without having to buy more expansions later or whatnot. And the experience is more than worthy of the price.

Can't argue with this. The mobile version doesn't look great from what I've seen, but as long as they haven't changed anything else it's one of the best JRPGs out there.

Most of the changes are minor at best, but that's because our lovely Square keeps losing the source code to most of its games. Otherwise, rest assured the game itself is nearly the same as the one on the GBA, complete with the better translation, bonus content and whatnot.

Final Fantasy V is really one of the best, if not the best. That cannot be argued.
Tales of Illyria is a nice mix of rpg with choose your own adventure but if you're looking for something more jrpg-ish i would say Chrono Trigger (did they fix the mobile version?).

Pocket Mortys if you're into Rick and Morty and like Pokemon. It's a great game. Some Freemium elements - but not essential to play.

Knights Of Pen And Paper is pretty good fun too. It's an RPG game of an RPG game, if that makes sense?
Final Fantasy III for me it's the best Square enix port.
it's the port of the DS remake of the game, and it's really good.
A really great final fantasy game that you can play over and over again, with epic story and really great job system (Final Fantasy 5 got a great job system too but I think FF3 it's still the best).
Since it's android you cannot get FF7 yet.

It's Final Fantasy V where things pick up. Hate to say that FF3 is insanely difficult in some ways, that and FF3's story was less than engaging. FF3's job system is a little bit experimental and only rewards you if you've levelled your jobs up so highly.

FFV improves on FFIII's system and whatnot and makes it cooler.
If you aren't in a hurry getting those Final Fantasy games for Android, Square usually has -50% sales during christmas for their Android titles.

I don't agree. FF3 sure it's difficult but that is good in a final fantasy game (that are usually really easy). Sure FF3's story is simple but it's really epic, and I think it's still a great story. In FF3 there are more classes and you can choose so many combination... it's just really funny, I think FF5 has less choice.

Finally FF3 on mobile is the port of the DS remake that is a really good port. if you try to compare the old NES version with the remake you can see that the remake it's really well done.

Anyway FF5 is still really good, I think play both is the best choice.
But according to my taste, ff 3 is better.
