Could a mod go to the The 25th Ward: The Silver Case Digital Limited Edition page and get rid of the spam reviews? I want to play games, not read rants on circumcision.

it's not just on that review of the game. its in forum as well.

GOG need to introduce the fallowing rule:

An account must have bought at least a "number of games" to have the right to post a review. otherwise this crap will keep going.

Strongly agree. Maybe one game to post on the forums as well.

That's an awful idea. The thing GoG needs now and has done for the last two years, is more focus on the users directly spending money and interacting with the service. You can't try to nurture and grow the forums, or even maintain if you're gating it off with the requirement for purchase.


As for the reviews, it's hard to keep on top of the bombing in all truth.

Unbelievable, this guy is artificially boosting the game's review score with all these 5 star reviews. Mods need to do something about that!

I don't think you understand how this can get out of hand real fast if they do nothing about it.

We will all be well informed about circumcision and reproductive organs in general in every review and forum thread. This will be everywhere.

And i don't think buying one or two games is that big of a requirement. What the hell people come here if it's not about buying and playing games.

Given I worked there and spent a fair chunk of my days often trying to figure out how to stop troll reviews, even getting flak from OneAngryGamer and some subb reddits, i think I do mate.

It's really not as simple as just deleting them and moving on. If users want to review bomb, they're going to do it, with multiple accounts. Ask anyone who remembers Le-Peroux (?) and the anime-like games.

I would assume this is why Epic is taking their approach to user reviews...and the recent changes at Rotten Tomatoes, even if we're going outside of video games here.

They come here to ask questions, it's a gateway to the service and the community, which is already niche to start off with.

It's not a review bomb, nor a troll post. it's spam. And if you give them the freedom to post what they want, there'll be no end to it.

But it's pointless to argue here. GOG will decide how to handle this, one way or another.

No argument here mate, just pointing out factors to your query. If it was a simple case, it would have been done. When the users have the ability to interact with a site, even more so in the capacity to review, the tool will be abused.

I'm inclined to agree that reviews should be limited to only the users who bought something here. Not the forum, since people who want to ask questions before making a purchase here should be able to do so, and besides barely anyone visits here so some spam that will eventually get deleted is less harmfull here. But the reviews... yeah, this should not happen.

Did you notify support too? Or did you just make this thread? Notifying support is the better way of making GOG aware of this problem, but I don't want to write to them if you already did.
