There will be blood. Delicious blood.

Vampire®: The Masquerade - Bloodlines™, the timeless RPG masterpiece that has sucked many a gamer's time, is now available, DRM-free on GOG.com.

Intoxicating. Macabre. Vital. These are both traits of blood and of Vampire®: The Masquerade - Bloodlines™, the RPG that forever changed expectations on how the creatures of the night should be depicted in videogames. Was it the ridiculous replayability? The versatility of our vampiric abilities? The gripping visual and sound design? Perhaps the memorable NPCs and stellar writing. One thing is for certain: much like the daunting Antediluvians, this is a game whose allure only grows stronger with time. No point in resisting it any longer.

Sink your teeth into the definitive bloodsucking experience that is Vampire®: The Masquerade - Bloodlines™, DRM-free on GOG.com.

Note: This version includes third-party technical fixes, courtesy of Wesp5. The full unofficial patch, which also includes additional content, can be found over at Patches Scrolls.

Ahh... I love the smell of blood in the morning.
So it's finally here...
now that I'm thinking, Wizards & Warriors from Activision would be great too!
I am so glad it is here, but I am more than surprised at steepness of that price O.o
I will definitely buy it eventually, though.
Nearly drowned in the water I was drinking, the moment I pressed F5. Great release! It seems that on GOG, anything can happen nowadays! :)

As for those who comment about the price:

• Wouldn't be nice if the game was offered with a launch discount? Yes.
• ...but, is the game worth the $20? Hell yes!

Personally, since I have the retail version of the game, I don't see the reason why I should hurry up and buy it so I'll wait for a nice discount. If I didn't have it/ haven't played it though, most possibly it would be an instabuy. ;)
It took it's merry time getting here so I broke down and bought it elsewhere. I also doubt Activision would be cool with "redeeming" physical copies.

Edit: That was a short wishlist to purchase turnover...

I second that absolutely! The trailer to this is shown in the main menu of Lands of Lore 2, and every time it plays I think it would be very interesting to play this one. :)

Pretty damn lame of people to complain about the price. This is Bloodlines in a working DRM-free installer. For years I've been forced to use a pirated custom made installer of the game because the originals don't work post-WinXP (or 64-bit OS's, I forget what the problem was). This game hasn't exactly been rescued from a shallow grave with the GOG release, but close enough. I've been waiting for years hoping that I could own this game license and have access to GOG style installers. I'm very happy that it is finally here and will buy it as soon as I can, regardless of the retail price. Good job on everyone who made it possible to release the game!

For the uninitiated or those who are unhappy about the unofficial patch being included, you must understand that the game was utterly broken on release and the developer pushed out some desperate fixes while their company was going bankrupt. That is true dedication to the art, but it wasn't enough to actually fix the game. The unofficial patch is pretty much a must, taking care of the last broken quests and levels.

Furthermore, if this is your first time playing Bloodlines, don't misunderstand the hype. This game is wonky as hell. The gameplay ranges from boring to terrible. The visuals are unpolished, the writing isn't all that great much of the time and the end-game is a trainwreck (all of the different end-games *hint*). Every single aspect of the game is bad or mediocre, but all combined (with a dash of imagination) it is a fantastic roleplaying fantasy that feels much richer and branched than it really is. I consider it one of my favourite games of all time, it really amounts to alot more than the sum of it's parts. You know how Deus Ex is an awkward and messy game that somehow manages to give you an incredible gaming experience? Bloodlines is like that, but bigger. It is more messy and often very obviously unfinished, but it has enough heart and brains that if you go into it with a little bit of imagination to smooth out the rough spots this is a very good roleplaying experience.

This is objectively a 4 out of 10 game that subjectively can deliver a 9 out of 10 experience. Veteran players will probably understand how that argument works.
Well, I can see at least two good reasons to get it... when it's on sale.
You guys shouldn't complain about the price so much, after all it was to be expected that the game wouldn't be released here for half of its price on Steam and (previously) DotEmu. And who knows if the price wasn't part of the reason why it did not arrive on GOG earlier. If GOG had announced that we won't see Bloodlines here only due to its price, I bet a lot of people would have protested as well.

Look at the bright side of it:
- Bloodlines is finally here!
- And it's not using regional pricing, so (at least for customers in Western Europe) it's actually slightly cheaper than it is on Steam and than it was on DotEmu.
- Now that it's here, it will probably go on sale one day, so if you were waiting for a chance to buy the game DRM-free for around $10, that chance has become a very likely probability now. :)

You act as if you're genuinely surprised. This is the GOG forums we're talking about here. GOG could release NOLF and NOLF 2 as free titles tomorrow updated with fully updated modern OS compatibility, Mac and Linux ports, and fully functional multiplayer both with and without Galaxy...and people would still find something to bitch and complain about.
