The biggest thing in RPG gets bigger.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Hearts of Stone, the first of two anticipated epic expansions, is available now with full GOG Galaxy support, DRM-free on GOG.com.

In the world of The Witcher, nearly everything that you do matters - once in a while you may just have to face the heavy consequences of even the briefest interactions.
A new contract awaits from the mysterious Merchant of Mirrors. Geralt of Rivia will take on the impossible: a quest to defeat one man cursed with the power of immortality - and he'll do so over 10 hours of new adventure with new characters, new monsters, new romances, plenty of whimsy, and a whole new storyline for him to shape. You'll see Geralt like you've never seen him before.

Check out IGN's review of the Hearts of Stone expansion, but watch out for spoilers!

budejovice: Wait, Witcher 3 expansion? I hadn't noticed the base game had already been released.

shmerl: Not on Linux. Still waiting for the base game to come out. Hopefully it won't take as long as it took Witcher 2 from Windows to Linux release. May be Wine will catch up with DX11 support sooner if CDPR will continue treating Linux as second class citizen for their games.
Agreed - no Linux release = game wasn't released yet, at all. (computer-related) life is so much better since I abandoned touching windoze with a long stick, and not even Witcher 3 (which I consider one of best games of all times, mind you) is going to force me into even looking at dualbooting or whatsnot.

If CDPR likes to support only that poor excuse for a (wanna be) operating system - due to wrong design decisions, like DX11 instead of OpenGL 4.0, or "whatsnot" reasons - its their loss, of my release-time money.

I will still play it, probably when it will be cheap as matches already (considering, that Wine + Witcher 2 is STILL better than ''official'' Witcher 2 linux "port"... I guess I will just wait for Wine translating DX11 into proper OpenGL calls) and I have what to play in the meantime. Yes, I'm referring to all those great games released by developers that do Linux at day 1.

burn190: Game wont open from GOG. it opens from folder but the heart of stone update is not applied. what do i do??

Phil84: Try going to:

More - Configure

and choose "manually" on your "install updates" choice. Change back to "automatically" and your game should be updated with a ~2 GB patch, and the DLC "Hearts of Stone" should appear in your "DLCs installed" option. (Note: this method applies to the GOG Galaxy one)
I did that already and it updated but the game wont open from the GOG galaxy 1.14 beta. I can only open it from where the game is installed in the folder going to bin>x64>witcher3 thats the only way to open it but it doesnt seem like the update it applied
I've just unbox my Limited Edition. Playing card are AWSOME with funny descibres :D
GREAT JOB CDPR !!!

Can't wait Blood and Wine
My Witcher is presumed dead in a shed, so until I see this DLC resuming that corner they have written them in, I'm not into it.
It says "coming soon" for me still, and the expansion is already live... anyone else having the same problem?
I was thinking to buy this one when the second expansion will be launched...but I haven't hold and I bought yesterday. It looks impressive.

A question for GoG team: we'll have some kind of goodies with Hearts of Stone and the next Blood and Wine?. New tracks for ost, wallpapers or concept art will be amazing :)

Sorry, I've just to take a look of my folder and there're a new comic, wallpapers, renders...thanks GoG and CDP!!

Achievements seem broken.

I achieved a game of 200 pts in Gwent and another of 197 (meeting/exceeding the 187 for the achirvement) and now 2 days afterwards it still doesn't show that I have it.
The wedding quest with Shani is the best I have experienced so far in the game. Watching Geralt dance had me laughing hysterically! This game is truly a masterpiece!

Johnny_Rook: I have to ask "what does "DRM-free" means to you?"
avatar
jamyskis: Oh, there's little doubt that the GOG version is DRM-free, and that I can download a DRM-free version with the GOG code in the box, but I don't buy full-priced digital games. I'm looking to the physical version, and I've held back on the PS4 version to date because CDPR assured that future pressings would not have the online release date check.

If the physical version of a game is bound to Steam, Origin or UPlay, I won't think twice about skipping the PC version for a €5 sale and getting the console version instead.
Got it ;)

If I've understood this correctly, it's something about having a problem with levelling up, casting Quen doesn't provide upgrades and wants help?

yarchum: Swift and smooth download, and in game everything seems to be working like a charm. Seems like even my FPS got a little boost here. Good job, CDPR and GOG!
I hope you're right as I normally get about 30FPS @ 2560x1600 but just upgraded to a triple-head configuration at 5760x1200 or alternatively 6400x1600 (depending on how I set up Eyefinity) and my framerate tanked to 12FPS. :)

Mind you, even if they juiced the framerate up a bit I doubt it'll make much difference from 12FPS unless they also added support for Vulkan, which I would shit bricks for but doubt it'll happen for an already released game. I imagine that'd require some fundamental changes to Red Engine to deal with Vulkan and DX12 which we'll likely have to wait for Cyberpunk 2077 for.
