Orcs must NOT die.

Tales of Maj'Eyal: Embers of Rage, the new chapter to the turn-based roguelike RPG of vast character customization, is available now for Windows, Mac, and Linux, DRM-free on GOG.com with in-game achievements and a 10% launch discount. To celebrate the occasion, all previous Tales of Maj'Eyal installments are also on discount.

All Orc Prides have been wiped out or captured by the allied forces the greenskins call The Scourge from the West. All? No! One of them managed to survive, isolated on an island they share with a race of technologically advanced giants. Now the Kruk Pride must rise and attempt to claim that technology for themselves, before they can unleash their righteous wrath upon those that aim to suppress them.

The new, fully-fledged campaign in this savage land will give you the opportunity to play as a Sawbutcher or a Gunslinger, and even unlock additional secret classes that will allow the Orcs to reestablish themselves in the world of Eyal. Countless new items, talents, and zones are waiting to be discovered, and the new tinker crafting system will give your character some advanced gear to experiment with. You might think Orcs are just dumb masses of green muscle but when they get their hands on that sweet tech, you will be glad to be playing as one of them.

Help the orcfolk reclaim their rightful place and live their Tales of Maj'Eyal: Embers of Rage, DRM-free on GOG.com. Take this opportunity to revisit the Tales of Maj'Eyal going for 75% off and the first DLC Ashes of Urh'Rok, now discounted by 66%.

Random_Coffee: Ouch! I just got killed twice in those ruins. How many lives do I have in adventure mode?
It depends on your level: wiki

Kor'Pul ruins? You should probably do that after all the other tier 1 dungeons (see here for some guidance regarding that, but note it is mildly spoilery). As for fighting the boss there, dig through the wall directly to him, don't go around while he blasts you with spells.

You get extra lives as you level. The exact number is on your character sheet, press "c".

I started a new run, inspired by the posts here. Vanilla, though. It was a breeze until the Maze, which apparently got an alternative layout (yeah, like I said, last I played was 1.0, and there's even a date attached to my victory - almost exactly three years ago, Feb 2013), which is pretty nasty. I whacked the boss, and then opened a golden chest before clearing out the rest of the level. Out comes a monstrosity superior to the boss, another free-roaming rare starts chasing me while I'm trying to escape, along with all the other critters...Rod of Recall saved my hide. Those 40 turns, though...had it been 42, I would have been a goner - painted myself into a corner like an idiot. The adrenaline rush made it difficult to sleep :)

Marioface5: Are you referring to the flood of games? Is that finally going to begin?

JudasIscariot: There will be a wee bit of a trickle but not THE prophesied flood :P
What happened to the trickle? It's starting to look like nothing big is happening this week after all.
Well, I found an awesome combo for the Sawbutcher; a whirlwind of fire and blades that was slaughtering everything in it's path.
Until I walked into a mountain with a lvl 65 elder dragon which promptly ate him for breakfast.
XD

Will have to try that one again - a Yeti Sawbutcher with the first category point spent on inscriptions so he could have two steam generators, then max out points in the first three skills; the saw mastery skill and the two sustained ones, then use the two sustain skills (which mean you do loads of damage and auto attack everyone around you, with a chance to deflect damage too)
Loads of STR, CON & CUN and reasonably high DEX. Got lucky with a few decent items too which helped.
