Raiders of the Galaxy.

Space Rogue Classic, the timeless space combat simulator with plenty of RPG elements, is available now, DRM-free on GOG.com.

Your crew didn't deserve that fate. While you were out there on your own, investigating a derelict ship floating through space, a band of ruthless Manchi raiders appeared out of nowhere and wiped out everyone aboard your trading vessel, the Princess Blue. Now you're on the warpath, seeking to avenge your mates and perhaps become a class-A space rogue in the process.
Those are both admirable goals, but to get there you've got a lot of space to cover. You will be constantly alternating between the 3D view used in space combat and exploration, and the top-down perspective through which you navigate the planetary outposts, talk to NPCs, and handle trades, quests, or ship upgrades. The galaxy is a pretty vast space, but there's no wormhole big enough for these despicable Manchi to hide in!

Travel across the galaxy, upgrade your ship, and become the ultimate Space Rogue Classic, DRM-free on GOG.com.

JMich: But Noctropolis wasn't an Origin developed game, unlike Space Rogue. Thus my surprise, I thought EA had all the Origin works.
Maybe they still do. After all, many games published by Night Dive don't belong to them; they are just acting as intermediary publishers.

Smannesman: Interesting, but just as a collectible because I really doubt I'd ever play it.
Unfortunately I have to say the same. I think it has mainly historical value to me, I might play it out of academic interest maybe, like playing the early Ultima games or something.

JMich: Feel free to ask questions about the game, will try to answer them.
Sound card support? Which sound cards?

What is that graphics? CGA? EGA? Probably not VGA?

(The game appears to be from 1989 which is when VGA and sound card support was emerging, that's why I want a confirmation.)

I guess this reveals that while I recognize and know this game, I have never actually played it (I think).

PC Speaker.

I think it's EGA, though the screenshots should be indicative of it. No high resolution, nor 256 colors.
Rad! Wanted to play this when I was a kid. Origin Systems forever. Will pick it up today.

Grargar: I wonder if Night Dive has access to other old EA games.
ZZZzzzZZZZZ
I'm dreaming in here, pal ;)

superstande: I remember really liking Space Rogue when it first came out, but got stuck somewhere quite far into the game.
But I was terrible at English back then, that might have something to do with it, and around ten years old :)
I remember the manual was quite well done and there were some nice extra touches - it's included with the release by the way :)
I miss those old manuals that came with games you purchased at your favorite store. Some modern games today do still come with manuals, but they generally are few, and leave a lot to be desired.

tburger: Never heard of this game but: it's an oldie, it has manual...will not lat long until it lands on my shelf
+1 for being so damn honest
It does sounds cool.
Cooler than No Man's Sky.
Graphics is old but game sounds good.

Anything old or new that isn't no games sky is better then no mans sky.

Hell slamming rocks in to your eyes would only be marginally more fun.

Looks cool. Does it use DosBox?
Wasn't it something like "Others create worlds, we bring you the universe."

I've kept the floppies, box and manuals from the C64 version I played for so many hours when I was younger out of sentimentality. I'm really happy to see this on GOG.

Yes.
Good game, played on the old migga. Often compared to the original Elite and in some ways better. What sound card does the PC version use? Tempted with this one.
