Finally making dem free throws.

Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn is now available, DRM-free on GOG.com.
After a less-than-stellar first outing back in '94, Shaq is on the rebound, ready to kick evil celebrity ass with sick combos, over-the-top weapons, and a fierce rap track performed by the man himself. Punch, kick, throw and defame these demonic Hollywood posers as you side-scroll through the globe.

Note: Currently the game is English only. The rest of the supported languages (namely FIGS, RU, and BR-PT) will be available shortly.
All these old shitty games getting a sequel, makes me want a Big Rigs 2

"You can now do interdimensional travel from the seat of your truck! Simply go in reverse until the ludicrous speeds tear the fabric of time and space"

Crosmando: Looks awful. Of all the terrible ideas to make a game about....
To remake a game about. The original one sucked ass. This doesn't look much better.

thesmashingone: I assume "FIGS" stands for French, Italian, German, and Spanish (see: EFIGS). Additionally, "RU" means

HunchBluntley: Curious that that acronym uses the initials of the English versions of all the language names.
Hmm, that's true, I never thought about that. The explanation might be that the term originated in internal business communication, and gradually/accidentally seeped out into the public. Like "EMEA" for Europe/Middle East/Asia.
Apparently Big Rigs maximum speed is 12.3 undecillion mph or 18 octillion times the speed of light.

It might also have something to do with the fact that "FIGS" is also an actual word in English, and therefore easier to remember (for English-speakers) as an acronym. I have no idea if either "FIDE" or "EFIDE" means anything much in any major, modern European language. (I'm pretty sure it does in Latin, though.)

DreamedArtist: A new game? Istill own the original on genesis,,best 50cents ever spent lol
avatar
finkleroy: I somehow doubt that, considering all the digitally distributed games nowadays. Right now you can pay $0.01 for six great games on Humble Bundle.
you do prove a point, can't argue with that.

Analysis: Shaq-Fu (1994)
Wow, did that guy do his doctorate degree on that game? It is so overly theoretical, even starting to discuss about Schrödinger's Cat and measuring frames by some kind of test setup.

I never knew fighting games are so high tech and theoretical.
Nice
Only one thing comes to my mind after seeing this announcement:

... well, there's also the game sprites version, which may be more appealing to gamers:

Now if someone were to make a fighting game inspired by The Ultimate Showdown...
is he teh guy that had aids

Better option: get zsnes + shag fu rom + shmuck fu hack.
Or watch the video of the hack here. --> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gofjT3t1XQk

Shmuck Fu is guaranteed 1000% better than an attempt to remake the worst game since Atari 2600 ET!
For some reason I've never followed the Internet backlash against this game. Shaq-Fu is nowhere near the worst game ever, it's not even the worst fighting game ever! If Shaq-Fu is guilty of anything is being average.

They really are. Fighting games may be seem simple but they are really complex and deep. There are many communities devoted to fighting game and their expertise levels are usually really high.
