Exciting news ahead – Saints Row IV: Re-Elected is now finally available for Australia – in a special Saints Row IV: Re-Elected AU edition!

After saving the world from a terrorist attack the leader of the 3rd Street Saints is elected to become President of the United States. Things go reasonably well until an alien warlord named Zinyak attacks the white house and abducts his entire cabinet. Now stuck inside a reality bending simulation, the President and the Saints fight to save themselves, Earth, and the entire galaxy... if that all sounds crazy to you, trust us: we’re just getting started.

Now available for Australia!

Syphon72: DXVK fixed the game crashing randomly? I can play at 30 fps, but the crashing I can't handle.
Not sure about the crashes. I haven't tested it myself yet. But I know DXVK at least helps performance and frametime stability.

I got Saint's Row 4 for GOG and Steam through GOG Connect, and even the Steam version keeps the Game of the Century content as a separate DLC. Steam is preserving content more than GOG right now.

Also; most regions outside AU are now officially region locked out of a "game" on GOG for the first time ever. Trying to click on Saint's Row 4 AU edition outside AU just brings up a list of other games on sale instead.

I'm going to test it. I heard DXVK also helps a lot with window version of games.

No. I think the first one is the german version of Kane & Lynch 2. Or do you have acces to the DE version?
avatar
00063: Right now there is NO WAY to download the old version!
avatar
idbeholdME: There is. Through Galaxy. But that option will be gone if the game receives 1 or 2 more updates, as Galaxy only allows rollback to 5 past versions.

Either way, yes. SR 4 is an egregious example of the original version having been replaced by a different one. If GOG could go back and re-add the installers of the last pre-Re-Elected edition version to extras at least, it would send off a really good signal to the community.

And yes, Re-Elected is inferior to Century in many regards. Or at least was back when it released. Not sure if anything changed since then but I assume not, as the last update was 2 years ago.

EDIT:
Added a screen of Galaxy version swap. The 2 oldest ones are the Century version. 2 more updates, and it will be impossible to revert back to it.
Nice post. I keep old offline installers for this reason. I downloaded Game of the Century Edition on June 1 2017, so I got the final.

People need to understand that this situation is currently beyond GOG's control. The game was also removed from Steam. What are talking about separate DLC on Steam? I do not see it as separate DLC.
It know it sucks but this one is Deep silvers decision.

Swedrami: I imagine GoG's hands are tied in this regard, and it's entirely up to Deep Silver/THQ Nordic whether the old version would be put up again (as a separate "classic" edition) or not.
So GOG thinks it's ok to take the old edition out of our library, like Steam, and just force us to use the new one if we want to reinstall. This is bullshit. I didn't ask for the "re-elected" version. I just had to delete all my back-ups a month back because I ran out of storage. So now I am screwed. Thanks GOG.

If they don't have a option, what can they do? Last I check they do not own the games. Also, you can do the roll back to get the GOTC version right now.

Edit: why did you need to delete all your backups? Why not just buy additional backup HD?

They're supposed to not remove games from our library.

Do you pay my bills? No? Then don't tell me how to spend my paychecks.

It is ‘supposed to be’, but unfortunately it is, as you say. I'm honestly thinking of withdrawing from the platform. I've already done it with Steam, Ubisoft Connect and others. It's all a bit tiring, to be honest.

And then they complain about low sales or poor product success. You don't have to go far... Ubisoft is just around the corner. And, it really hurts when such a legendary company gets into trouble that comes precisely from its own bad decisions.

The current policies of the market and the industry itself will eventually destroy sites like GOG. :(

Okay, technically, they didn't remove the game from your library. Both games are the same, except for the dumb EOS bull needed to play multiplayer. I've played both versions, and they even have the same frustrating bugs, graphics, and other bull.

Re-relation is more of a terrible update than actually remaster. I have seen updates from Grim Dawn change more things than Re-relaction. The fact you can even roll back to the GOTC version kind proves Re-relaction is more of update.

I'm not telling you how to spend your money. I have bills to pay in addition to a house payment. Right now, I'm the only income, and I can still afford a cheap 5TB for $130.

Just advice: I would get 2TB HD so you have extra backup space.

No longer selling an older version of a game due to contractual obligation is one thing, but that shouldn't allow you to steal a game from my library.
Imo as long as other regions can still buy the original version, it's ok for a rights holder to sell a new/changed version for some region to comply with it's (shite or no) laws. But this.....I don't even have the words...

Is this the new Hitman GOTY debacle, seems like it.

Now i'm wondering if there are legal provisions in gog user's areas to demand refunds in such instances ;)
Whoa!
Time to buy a 4tb ssd to download 500+ games to PRESERVE them. Thankfully I don't enjoy this game all that much.

I mean, I understand I have a computer so I can simply mod this out, or go a different route if extremely necessary; but, the principles man! Who am I kidding right? If you don't follow rules why should I? This (be it small) sets a precedent for trust breaching.
The copy I got on Steam way back when it was released was the uncensored (ie how it should be) version as mine had that mission with the drugs in it that upset the ratings board... but going by the description and alot of the comments here this is the censored version?

...hopefully that epic account nonsense is 100% optional, otherwise yeah hard pass.

Was going to grab it for nostalgias sake but ehh - atleast I got all the other Saint Row's in offline installer form and safe on external drives.
