Looking back at the last three major classic re-releases which GoG has been directly involved in (doing the heavy lifting, mostly on the technical side of things) it appears that they put at least 2 months between them:

Alpha Protocol - 20th of February
Resident Evil (1997) - 26th of June
Resident Evil 2 (1999) - 27th of August

If they intend to stick with this cadence we're looking at late October for Resident Evil 3 (2000) then?

Also could mean that whatever "exciting" GoG has lined up for its 16th anniversary in late September is something else entirely, especially with RE2 "out of the way" now.
I still can't get over these coming out here. Awesome news.

Foxhack: And there's barely a discount for buying the set in Mexico. Again.

A single game is $5.10, the whole set is $15.13. Meanwhile in the US it's $9.99 per game, 24.99 for the trilogy.

M3troid: Er... that does not make the game cheaper in your region?
The discount isn't even close. America gets around 25-26% off the three game bundle. I get 2% off.

I'm not saying "Give us the full 25% off" but 2% off is barely a discount. Something like 10% would be better, considering our lower base price and lower margin of profit for Capcom.

Yeah. Only US got the discount. This sucks.

Ghildrean: Found the source of my confusion. Installing the game in any language other than japanese uses Original = USA and Arrange = Japan, but installing the game in japanese uses Original = Japan and Arrange = USA. As far as I know, the SourceNext version released years later uses that same order too.
Thanks both of you for clarifying! :)
Now its clear.

I made the calculations here with my region and it's around 1%~2% discount for the bundle compared to buying them individually, which not only sucks but sounds wrong.

Can anyone from GOG look into this?
Or are you guys purposefully waiting for the third game to release before applying discount to the bundle?

Thanks.
Unlike others here, I will not be haggling.

Instabuy from me.
Did you get your discount?

Berzerk2k2: Today is a good day to revisit Raccoon City. I'm so excited to replay my favorite survival horror game once again.
The German GOG version unfortunately is censored in case you did not know.

As long as there is no patch that fixes the issue I am not the target group anymore. I won't buy a censored game (which today would probably even get a 16 rating) in 2024.

Why is GoG so excessively going the "region route" and then even failing at executing it in a way the users may enjoy? Whats going on?

Besides, yes, i think nowadays in Germany this game will not become a "explicit" rating anymore... so there i no reason censoring it. However, you can switch the language to english and it should become uncensored after... but indeed... german language is censored.

I know it is far from an ideal solution and I cannot confirm it myself, but I have seen a couple of German reviewers saying that you can bypass the censorship by playing in any language other than German.

You can (that's explained in the linked youtube version as well) but as you said, it is not a solution and I still think it's a pity that they did not try to change this outdated censoring.

Now that RE1 and RE2 are out, when's Resident Evil 3 gonna be released?
Given their release pattern, I'd wager right in time for Halloween!

A few things you might want to consider adding if Capcom is okay with it. You need to add a mode for 3rd party assists to be loaded, and you need to add achievements so we have more replayability. Fixing the bad sound hissing with better quality sound could be done in the same way you could include a mode for 3rd party assists to be loaded. Also, a mode for forced auto-aim, quick turn. Just a few requests, but I think it would be beneficial to your project if you extended what you could do with this.

I'm late to the party, but I don't really care. I bought the RE bundle and started on RE2 on Friday night. GOG really did a good job with these ports - it's worked without a hitch and been a fantastic experience from start to finish.

I really hope that this is the start of a new, long-term initiative for GOG where they start bringing back older games and retooling them to have them work nicely in a modern setting. Same deal with the Metal Gear Solid re-release - great work, and I want to see more of it.
