Would this work on an itengrated GPU (Radeon Vega 8)?
I bought and played Outlaw on Epic at launch, because "hey I thought the first game was awesome".
I only played it for 20 hours or so before getting bored with it. I never finished it.
To me it did not feel or play at all like the first game.
I just felt that everything was mediocre; trade is extremely boring, combat is boring, ... but that's the whole game.
'OK' there's some story and character elements, but that was not enough to keep me interested.
Maybe I'll get back to it one day, don't know.
I give them that much - that's a proper price tag for an EGS exclusive coming to other stores.

A pitty they changed too much of the Rebel Galaxy gameplay - so no buy. (I loved the broad sides / big ships in the first title)
Kind of on the fence about this one. It looks like fun, but it also looks like it might get boring fast.

Anothername: Nice :)

.... waitaminute.... *takes out a magnifier* These ships look suspiciously tiny. And is that one a 'pit? >:-[

Do I look like a 10y old 'pitjock? Any cockpit smaller than this is close to a no-go.

thraxman: And as the ship manufactures have no doubt told you, due to the Intergalactic EU environmental and resources waste laws they can't make them any bigger, you've just got to loose the weight.
intergalactic eu ? you are way too optimistic about eu will last that long :D

fisk0: ...it's so much Wing Commander Privateer...
It's totally a-okay with me if it's nothing but an updated take on Privateer, seeing as that was my favorite of all the old space combat games. ;)

Don't get me wrong, I love Privateer too, and I like Rebel Galaxy Outlaw, but aside from the improved graphics it offers very little that the original Privateer didn't already, and that was tied into the Wing Commander franchise which is also one of my favorite universes.
And, well, I think other Privateer style games did do interesting things with the formula, Freelancer, I-War 2, the Evochron series among others. I kinda just wish a game that is this similar to the original Privateer would be an official Wing Commander product so that they could use the real ship and species names if they're gonna evoke them all this much anyway.
Is anything randomized in Rebel Galaxy Outlaw?
After some waiting RG_Outlaw already at Gog, Wonderfull (*☉౪ ⊙。)ノ

rock out to over 24 hours of music,

Nice to see that they put care on the music. The soundtrack of the original Rebel Galaxy did a lot for the game.

Rebel Galaxy is a 2.5D game. R.G. Outlaw is a full 3D game. So everyone should have what they want now. Definitely interesting.
Dumb story, characters acting dumb and for dumb reasons all around. I was hugely disappointed.

Good thing it's on GOG so at least you may experience all this dumbness DRM free.
got it, play it and love it... thanks gog
Credit where it's due, it takes some big brass ones to be willing to do a GOG release on the same day as Cyberpunk 2077. A fair few big-ticket indies were supposed to land here in early December (mostly gated by Sweeneybucks exclusivity deals), but most of them chickened out and rescheduled.

This one's on my list, but I have a bit of a backlog right now so won't get to it for a while. First one was good times, if a little too minimalist to totally do it for me.
FYI 2 is more like the cartoon and you need to remap your stick controls... both are just fine by me
Yup, this definitely feels like Privateer alright with much appreciated modern QoL features. It's like they've almost lifted the entirety of their station system, too. ;) That said, I can't be bothered with my aging flight stick anymore, so it's great that this plays so smoothly on a standard gamepad. That auto-follow system is simply a brilliant addition. I still got to properly aim, but I don't have to do awkward maneuvering anymore; that's something I was never too keen on even in the old days. :) I also quite like the 3D map for easier situational awareness.
