Just like good times.

Pathfinder: Kingmaker, is now, DRM-free on GOG.com.
The massive Pathfinder tabletop universe now finally summoned into the body of a team-based, isometric RPG in the vein of the unforgettable D&D classics of yore. Build your character from 14 distinct classes, interact with quirky NPCs and fascinating companions (crafted with contributions from none other than Chris Avellone) as you forge your destiny in the turbulent Stolen Lands. With great power come great ruling opportunities, and the kind of king you'll become shall hinge on your alignment, leading skills, and allies.

Grab the Imperial, Royal, or Noble Edition for the juicy extras.

Note: The Mac and Linux versions will be available soon.
Huh, this thread doesn't seem to show up in the forum. I only found this by clicking comments on the news post.
I'll wait until the weekend to pull the trigger on this one, the last few CRPG releases were pretty buggy on release..
Hopefully everything major is ironed out by then!

Trid: Looks promising, I really shouldn't but maybe I will make myself a birthday gift... :S will see how the reviews will go.
Happy birthday!! (i mean, if it's today!?)

Reading about the bugs, i would say it's better to wait before buying until it is more polished (unless you pre-ordered the game, ofc)

I have read about crashings on startup, freezing on startup, WASD+mouse stopped working, unable to unpause a battle, charge ability don't work, items looted disapearing, game using 100% GPU in the start menu (not in-game, it seems), hotkeys not working...plus translation errors and problems also for Ubuntu and MAC builds...

It seems very unpolished technically, i will wait for those who have bought the game for their comments/reviews.

Anyway, it's a new studio apparently created just to make this game from past members of Nival (and well, no one accused them ever to have high polished games, also) just 2 years ago. Maybe they need a bit more time to polish this...?
I was very close to buy this game before release, but when I noticed that it is made with Unity, I decided not to buy. I do not know is it because of engine or that devs are bad at using it, but almost every Unity game is very very buggy at release.
Waiting is always a good idea particularly as GOG have been rather stingy with the patch files and this game is another 20gb+ download that will be annoying to have to repeat every update.

To give you an idea one of Divinity OS2's post definitive edition updates had a single ~45mb file changed but no patch so for those that don't do Galaxy or lgogdownloader thats a ~45gb download.
Imperial Edition pre-order, Linux. No option to download Linux binaries ("System: Windows", no dropdown on my Linux desktop)...
Problems with the build?

Some issues have been found at the very last moment and currently we are waiting for an updated build from the developer, for Linux & macOS both.

My issue with Unity is more that the games (especially the isometric ones) pretty much always look pretty bland and sterile. The "comic" look really doesn't help either.

Selitos: The game seems to be heavily bugged... just downloaded my preordered imperial version, and cant pass main menu: it is empty, and while i can click on options, no text its displayed whatsoever, except in the credits.
Please open the Galaxy Client, click the game and use the MORE > Manage installation > Verify / Repair function.
Please check if switching to windowed mode (Alt+Enter key combination) makes a difference.

If the issue persists, please open a support ticket:

Please provide your DxDiag report and the log files found in:
C:\Users\*username*\AppData\LocalLow\Owlcat Games\Pathfinder Kingmaker
You can access the directory using the Run... window (WinKey+R key combination) and entering:
%userprofile%\AppData\LocalLow\Owlcat Games\Pathfinder Kingmaker
A screenshot could also help.

So is Deep Silver keeping its brand and name even though it was bought by THQNordic?

Dead Island pls Nordic. :)

Isn't that more an art direction problem than a Unity problem? Or do you perhaps mean pre-made effects and components that Unity has (bloom, particles, etc.)?

Always helps to quote the post you're actually replying to. ;P
Looks like you meant to quote_12, when you actually quote_1'd. =D

Patiently waiting for the better result then. Time doesn't matter - quality does:

ThomNG has mentioned in this forum (in reply to similar requests since the buyout) that it would be up to Deep Silver to bring any of their games here, so they appear to have retained a certain amount of autonomy.

People blame Unity for all kinds of problems that likely have more to do with it being an extremely popular engine/dev environment heavily used by a lot of underfunded and/or inexperienced dev studios. I suspect no one thinks much about the "made with Unity" thing when it comes to games that are well-polished, are reasonably well-optimized and feature somewhat more memorable visuals. It only becomes a sticking point if the game is janky or generic or a resource hog.
The game has no achievements in gog but it has added achievements in steam. This is nonsense but only for the price of the game they should have added achievements.

I have readed the contrary, here:

"The game has Achievements for anyone wondering"
