Anime-BlackWolf: The uncensored version ASKS you at the beginning if you want so see everything. It HAS a censor option for your wishes. That makes this crap situation so hilariously stupid and the complete fault of the publishers.
Wait, the game already had an option to self censor? ...wow.

Heh the irony

TheGrimLord: Not only that, but the devs are trying to bundle this game with everything from Gas Station and Drug Dealer Simulator to Chernobyl and all this other crap.
Drug Dealer Simulator? They took out the stuff that would alarm parents and then bundled it with a game about narcotics?

This makes it even more baffling. I respect the developer for respecting me, but then they piss all over their seemingly target audience. No one forced you to make an explicit game if you didn't want to. So why walk back the release?

Anime-BlackWolf: Have already found 2 sites that host this crap. Will of course not name them, but it runs as expected.

It is considered a "new, updated release" and they upload it without checking the content.

No one here in germany will even think about torrent-sites (too risky), so the "bay" is no real standard here.

paladin181: So. I'm glad there is a version of the game that removes explicit content from it. That is definitely my preferred version. But why isn't the option for the uncut, unrated version being offered? If it is the developer, then why? If it is GOG, it is illogical.

Weird, I checked the sites I use and it's not there.

Gamers can go and find the couple of other demos on steam for it.

The game that came before it called Lust for Darkness is there on sale for over $1 and I don't think it's uses steamDRM.
It's strange it's not on gog either.
What happened to the rating and reviews of this game on the GOG store page? Several of the reviews seem to have been deleted, and the ratings in those reviews seems to have been deleted too (and the game was rated 1.6/5 a few hours ago).

...unless that stuff happened due to a glitch in GOG's system.

Otherwise, if not, has GOG been deleting legitimate reviews for being critical of this game's censorship?

EDIT: I just checked my email and saw that GOG support (whom I did not contact) has sent me an email with their review guidelines, none of which my review of this game violated in any way whatsoever...a review of mine which GOG must have manually deleted!

That means the review system on GOG is totally illegitimate! They are not actually "reviews" so much as they are shill commercials, where only comments that aren't "too critical" of the game are allowed to be posted.

This censorship behavior by GOG is absolutely abhorrent!

I don't see any reviews from verified owners of the game .

I am just here to confirm that negative reviews are disappearing from the page of the game. Real-time.
I see only 'one' there with 3*.

1.8/5 * overall rating
3.7/5 * verified owners rating
3/5 * filters based rating

After I removed english filter one more with 1* popped up, but disappeard again forever when I clicked on english filter and back again.
It was review of Vechernyaya and it had 24 from 35 helpful. Nothing weird, but it was negative.

I have my own experiences with disappearing review here (talking about a game but being negative) and still waiting for some explanation, because I guess they didn't expect me to have a screenshot. Different game tho'. Game without existing negative reviews and (as GOG/CDPR) funded by EU. It was here in promotion and it has a political propaganda in it which I pointed out.

They told me so far that because of "technical limitations" they can't see it anymore, but I definitely "had to" break the guidelines.

So.. I sent them a screenshot of that after they said it and I didn't get any asnwer yet.

Also, I asked about who is doing that (staff?/moderators?) and if moderators - how they control them? I have experiences with lying and biased moderator editing my post to collude with some questionable and protected spamming user(s) here. The moderator also went silent after I said I have a screenshot of it and he is making stuff up. He removed piece of my post to put it out of the context to comment on something right under one user to make a statement and that happened 3 days after I posted it and there were new pages of people talking after that. He just was searching for "something to edit" in specific 2-3 lines, so he could snip it out of my previous old statement out of context and put it under Krogan32's post to make me look like a liar. He misused moderation for personal comment. Also, he lied about what I did and he was thinking I will not be able to defend it front of the people because he removed it and people couldn't see it's a lie. He gave me "official warning" based on that. But I have a screenshot. Also he told me I am a conspiracist the same way Krogan32 did just a while ago (not literally). While all I do is sharing experiences here and some opinions time after time.

Also, I'm not sure if they should keep that info for a while because of some laws (anti-terrorism and such).

My personal opinion is that GOG has serious problem with activists posing as moderators. Because of the actions. Activists do these free jobs, they have time for that. Btw.. I never saw a person that is promoting Beamdog on their page not being one. :D Just personal observation and opinion.

The bias of moderation here is insane. That is a fact. But of staff as well, they are selectively closing necro-ed topics. If it's anime - it's allowed even if it's the "oldest" one I saw (made 2012, last previous post 2019).

Positive spam reviews, meme reviews and reviews of developers itself are allowed (like 'MDK' has, for example).
And promoted.

Yes, and also at the time when they delete the reviews, the rating that was tied to the review gets deleted as well.

My one star rating of this game ceased to exist at the time when GOG deleted my review which gave it one star. And so I had to re-rate it as a one star in order to get my rating back onto it.

But users who do not re-apply their star rating, and whose legit reviews were also illegitimately deleted by GOG, their ratings will remain deleted out of GOG's rating calculation.

But it seems there is no way that I can put my review back up without also probably invoking GOG's unjust wrath, given that I'm not sure what exact words will trigger GOG into illegitimately deleting my review again, even if I try to edit in such a way so as only to use GOG-approved words whist still maintaining the integrity of its message.

Or perhaps they deleted my review not because of its content, but rather because it had a 90%+ Helpful rating whilst being heavily critical of the game, and recommending NOT to buy it.

Either way, this is some very dubious behavior on GOG's part IMO.

Ancient-Red-Dragon: I am not surprised. This is classic behaviour of companies since I remember. It's one of the reasons why I left all other platforms. I am only surprised that GOG is doing that so blatantly.
But.. I was not active here at all (forum/reviews) until GOG ignored me on support when my deleted data reappeared (which they already confirmed it happened and said it was an "error" with Zendesk and probably other 3rd party tools they use and I had no clue about.. after they consulted it with a lawyer - not joking - my tickets are consulted with a lawyer).

I could write a book on practices of companies doing this. I was quite big in gaming, privacy and software for years. It's worth practice even if they get busted once in a while. And any time they can say they can do whatever they want. Problem is just the fight for public opinion.

They have reasons to do that. Reviews swing people a lot to buy a game and "review bombing" is made up term to protect companies that mess up. People "review bomb" even if companies don't mess up but no one cares. :D

Also, it's the reason why really everything I post has a screenshot and it's "breaking" companies doing that. Well, usually they just switch to ignore me. At least when I was active before. I don't support this whole nonsense too much anymore. Open-source rules.
Experiences. :D

I urge people to look on their old reviews once in a while. I remember when I used to use android, my reviews were disappearing all the time on Play Store and that is many, many years back (even those without a text - only with stars). Also some companies don't want to give you list of that for that very reason - so it's easy to forget.

All they have to do is to not warn people about it. 95 percent of people wont notice it's gone and most of the rest won't have a screenshot to prove it at all. For the rest - "We can do whatever we want." or ignore. Mostly ignore. The first one is more of a legal defense.

This is shameful behavior from a store that seems to insist on sinking to a new low every week. This is frankly bordering on fraud and false advertising, to give the appearance of allowing users to freely review games, but then to go and heavily doctor them.

I get the feeling this sorry excuse for company is now passed the point of no return.

*Time4Tea talking about fraud and false advertising...*

*Me looking at:

"Why buy on GOG.COM?
DRM FREE. No activation or online connection required to play.
Safety and satisfaction. Stellar support 24/7 and full refunds up to 30 days."*

Ehm... :D
I have no clue why their lawyer didn't force them to take it down yet...
And they were warned about it...

That's like a double fraud itself at this point. :D
Companies in some countries were fined and front of a court for much less.
In some cases it made some laws to be changed/created.

You can contact the devs here (please don't be rude or annoying though): https://moviegames.pl/en/contact/

Also yeah, deleting reviews is really lame GOG, unless they're actually spam. It just smells of desperation, like, "we keep losing money and have to prevent info from getting out, to get as many sales as possible! Otherwise we'll be bankrupt in a year!"

I'd encourage people to write reviews if they feel strongly about this release; try using a "collected" tone like "This is the censored version of the game, do not purchase this. Buy the uncensored version if it comes to GOG but skip this version." (most likely "collected tone"s were already used in the reviews but I'd encourage trying again)

Ancient-Red-Dragon: ...
You violated GoG's review rules, your "review" was deleted, and now you're crying about it. Seriously, if this was any other forum, you would've been banned long ago for this behavior.
