Honestly you are correct. It is hard for me to understand why somebody would like to play a sexual themed game without sex. It would be different for example if it would be a dating sim - there's no need to see any sex in a game about dating ... but a sex game without sex seems a bit weird. A bit like a shooter without seeing anybody getting killed. Anyway, while I have problems understanding why this might be appealing to some it does not change the fact that right now the censored version is the only one available. Out of curiosity though I would really be interested which version sells better. Maybe I am completely wrong and people prefer sexual themed games without explicit sex after all.

Right now we don't have any evidence for either side afaik.
And like I said, I am really curious which version sells more (given that it's possible to get both without any problems).

I get it and as I said I don't mind them doing the M Version, obviously the devs think it will sell.
But seeing as the game was meant to be AO it's a bit like asking uhhh a slasher game to tone down on the gore because you're turned off by gore.

It's an assumption, which most likely is correct.

Krogan32 is the one who is following other users around and calling them names and yet I never saw Sarafan editing his post or giving him any serious "official warning" unless it included some other side like now and to be "very easy" about it. Sarafan instead lied about and edited my post and when I called him out that he lied about content of my post to edit me (I have a screenshot) and he did it on purpose to highlight something to agree with Krogan32 instead !3 days after! in the boycott thread. But I see Sarafan editing other users saying anything negative about some other topics right away, removing their content without any warnings. Like in anime (porn) threads and such. Where he is saying something like "just because you don't like the style, you can't insult those people". While that person edited was never directly insulting like Krogan32 to anyone. I see disappearing posts bashing GOG or anime, but with no insult towards anyone directly like Krogan32 does ONLY. Mostly no insulting at all, even by far. Those are not cosnpiracies, but observations. Last time I saw post just saying that GOG is now allowing sexism from some JuWa user or something and it disappeared immediately after I refreshed the page. No insults. And even I wouldn't agree with that post as op probably meant it.

Funny is that Krogan32 is using the conspiracy attack since Sarafan used it when he lied and censored my post for his comment.
And even more funnier is how I asked Sarafan why I can't say "x", which just proved he lied because he didn't remove it again. Anytime I called Sarafan out he ignored that and I was not edited once since I told him I am doing screenshot of every post I have. I am still waiting for an answer from support about this moderator.

Comments from Krogan32 like:
"Thanks for proving my point about conspiracy theories being bad for mental health. Seriously, go see a shrink."

Are normal for Krogan32. He just insults people. Directly and personaly. I never saw him once to make a post without personal and direct attack on someone. There is difference between calling out some things and actions and personal, direct attacks on people like calling them mentally ill. And he never jokes. He is not trying to be funny at least. There would some difference too.

Krogan32 is a flame war troller that is just trying to get people/threads banned and he is constantly turning around all the time if he can use that.
And Sarafan is permissive of that and biased to everyone else, it's insane. Well, outright liar. He has nothing to do to be a moderator, especially while he is often sharing personal opinions under this very same account while he is editing people at the same moment and ignoring them when they say he lied and they have a screenshot.
Without any warnings or asking for explanation of what some people meant at all.
The bias and moderation and also staff selectively closing necro-ed threads are a problem here. Not people calling it out. It's not a conspiracy when people observe some agenda going on based on stuff they see themselves.

Those that use the "conspiracy theorist" smear have some different purpose behind it.

You can use that

And then look at the number of reviews on Steam, 2442 for the uncensored version and 29 for the censored version.

Yes I know, it is too soon to be relevant, but the day after launch the uncensored version had much more reviews. Anyway, that's all we got for now.

TheGrimLord: So I got in touch with the devs on Twitter in a calm and professional manner. They got back to me and said they are talking to GOG right now about it, with a winky face. Hopefully this means we'll get the unrated, Lust For Darkness and the prequel here as that's what I asked for. Just calm down. We might not hear anything until Monday proper.
Thanks for the information, it at least seems to mean that the devs don't seem opposed to sell the uncensored version here.

§pec†re: The game that came before it called Lust for Darkness is there on sale for over $1 and I don't think it's uses steamDRM.

fronzelneekburm: Pretty sure it's DRMed on Steam. I just tried it out. If you try to open the exe it will launch Steam.
It must just be the other demos. There was scarlet and prologue.

One reason, probably the main one, has already been mentioned by other people: they want to sell the game in places like China or Germany, which censor games more often. For people living in those places, it's either the censored version or nothing at all, and nothing at all doesn't make money. The store page paints this as a super magnanimous effort to bring the sex-based Lovecraft horror game to "a wider audience", as though there are eager masses who would LOVE to play it if only the creators would censor it, but it's about selling to people in those markets. For some reason companies, which exist solely to make money, can't ever, EVER admit that their reason for doing something is to make more money, instead choosing to insult their customers' intelligence with obvious lies. I'm not singling out this game developer for that, everyone does it, but this seems like an especially nonsensical example- especially if it's true that the original game already HAD an option for a censored mode, as some have said.

Keeping that in mind, I don't think the existence of a censored version is that weird. Sex is obviously a big part of the story, but it's a horror game, not a hentai game. There should be enough story and intrigue even in the censored version to make it worth playing. My problem is with GOG offering ONLY the censored version. Not everyone lives in a country with heavy video game censorship, and it's not something we should aspire to and start doing voluntarily!
I'm sure it has been suggested before but giving us a choice between the censored version and the uncensored version would clear this whole matter up... I don't like playing censored games of any content because it makes me feel as if I'm missing out on something and I'm being told that I'm not old enough to make my own decision on what I want to see or not see.

An uncensored game is like a movie. A censored game is the same movie but it tells you it has been edited for television.

Why being upset?
Info clearly tells who this version is for.
If you want to jerk off this version is not for you! There are plenty of kagura games you can chose from for that.

Eh not everyone wants a uncensored game for the ''titties'' or whatever take for example myself I may not like sexaul stuff in media outside of valid plot related factors (exspecially do to even teenage and young adult media takes every chance they can to have clearly sex scenes blatently happen even if one doesn't see any naughty bits) But I hate and get upset on the principle of censorship especially when if true what others say the regular version had a censor option built in so this version is redundant and makes no sense as they could have easily just had a simple '' Censor setting always on'' for other releases or what and/or brought the older and in my view better version as one could turn on or off the censorship as they desired
I don't understand why both versions can't be here when Succubus has a censored and uncensored version and when there are several purely uncensored games here.

Eh ignore Orkhepaj, he's on fish withdrawal again.
Oh yeah I remember this game. It's the one that users on Nintendo Life went crazy at when they found out it was being released. Ha, ha!

Dogmaus: So, is there a more censored version than this one, but it's not here?
avatar
Reaper9988: Well if you want no sexual innuendo/content at all, it's fair to say the game probably isn't for you.
The sex horror theme is kinda the angle here.
fair enough!
