Congratulations on your new...

Little Inferno entertainment fireplace, available now, DRM-free on GOG.com with a 50% launch discount.

Little Inferno is a peculiar little game. Partly because it's a simple fireplace simulator, and partly because it's an emotional rollercoaster. (It's also something of a puzzle game.) In Little Inferno you'll spend most of your time doing two things: buying things, then burning those things. Enter your inner pyromaniac - there's a curious satisfaction to the burning, and the focus of the game is executed perfectly with beautiful tongues of flame. But little Little Inferno is about far more than fire and puzzles - it's an experience, an interactive art piece: self-aware, moving, beautiful. If there's one thing to say about Little Inferno, is that you just can't say too much, you have to see it for yourself.

Among the Little Inferno goodies you'll find the full OST - in both MP3 and FLAC formats. The tracks are fire.

Enjoy your Little Inferno, available now, DRM-free on GOG.com The launch discount will last for one week, until October 15, 12:59 PM GMT.

In the press:
"The test I want a good game to pass is simple: I want it to stick with me. I want it to seep into my thoughts days after I played it. Little Inferno is simple. It's somehow both quaint and bold. It lingers. It burns brightly. It burns well."--Kotaku
For those who still wonder why you burn stuff in-game, the story of it etc. here's a nice quote:

"You are a customer who has at some point purchased the ‘Little Inferno Entertainment Fireplace’, into which you can throw all your toys and possessions to keep yourself warm, because in and around the city you live in, it has been snowing for as long as anyone can remember and nobody knows why. The implication is that the fireplace has been marketed at children as a toy in an attempt to cover its true purpose as a means of keeping the children, with suspiciously absent parents, from freezing to death in the persistent and encroaching cold."

deonast: I wish I had a house large enough for a three story fireplace. My dreams of a palace in the mountains are far off.

As for the game I've heard good things. I'll pick it up. I also appreciate the FLAC soundtrack option.

hmm just checked seems I own it on humble and steam. Well might as well make it a trifecta

tinyE: Well that's just it, it's not my house, it belongs to our guest. Trust me, if I wasn't running an inn my fireplace would be little more that a picture of a flame on my smart phone. :P
Hmm my smart phone felt a bit toasty warm the other day. Perhaps a little fire burns within every smart phone :)

Played this on Android and I just don't see why anybody would find it interesting. To me it was as dull as dishwater.

If it's 'an interactive art piece', I'm a banana. So much for curation.

Then it becomes fire-ception when you burn a smartphone in your Little Inferno Entertainment Fireplace™. At least I think there's a smartphone in the game, I don't remember, was a while since I played it.

Paul31286: Apart from Thomas Was Alone, which of these games were actually rejected by GOG?
Cook, Serve, Delicious was rejected for being 'too casual' apparently. Little Inferno is great (and worth your money, go buy it), but it is more of a toy than it is a game. Meanwhile CSD is a frantic restaurant sim mixed with Warioware style gameplay requiring 300 APM to get good. I just don't understand how CSD is 'too casual' compared to LI.

Vote here anyway, I guess, for hope: http://www.gog.com/wishlist/games/cook_serve_delicious

Delver is still in early access, so it will at least not get here before it is completed.

Really? That's a shame. I thought Delver had passed the beta stage by now.

But I still hope it will make it to GOG someday!
Well this certainly looks... interesting. However, I got to hold off on purchasing anything while I save up for the inevitable fall sale ;)

aye, it is still in beta. it is getting there, but the development is slow. Not sure when the official release date is set, but after the last update (reworked the sewer level) I feel it is getting close to a 1.0 stage. Only thing missing from the road-map is some sort of bank, mini-bosses, maybe another level type and more different traps. It is fun to play in the stage it is now, though.
So no good (really) old game this week ? How disapointing...

JMich: You buy an item with ingame cash, when it burns, it gives you back cash (if I recall correctly, more than it cost).
Yep, this damn game doesn't abide by the laws of economy! (or the laws of thermodynamics, for that matter :P)

Will the dev release Delver on GOG?
