The clockwork metropolis.

Lethis - Path of Progress, the steampunk city-builder with the Victorian backdrop, is available now, DRM-free on GOG.com with a 50% launch discount.

It may not be such a powerful word today, but there was a time when all people were talking about was the energy revolution of steam. It's easy to see why, as it was pretty much what brought the wonders of mass production to everyday life. Lethis is a Victorian world drenched in that mix of romantic steampunk aesthetics and aggressive resource consumption that calls for firm management and an eye for innovation.

The introduction of steam applications opens up a wonderful, cartoony world of opportunities. But before you can block out the sun with your fleet of zeppelins or give your people that huge observatory, you must first tend to your production lines, make sure to keep your workers happy, and establish profitable trade routes for the glory of the Empire. Mass production brings mass management problems and mass expectations from the masses. But bold science and smart coordination will help your lovely cities reach their full industrial potential and maybe raise a majestic monument or two.

Discover the excitement and far-reaching decisions that come with industrial revolution in Lethis - Path of Progress, DRM-free on GOG.com. The 50% discount will last until March 5, 1:59 AM GMT.

IAmSinistar: I suspected such was at the root, but it doesn't mean I have to like it. Queue up the old "GOG Ain't What It Used To Be" blues, available on cassette tape and 45 RPM.
I'll have one of the 45 RPM records, please.

Perhaps it's before its time, or at least before its time on GOG.

eiii: The graphics isn't exactly my preferred style, but the game is still interesting.

It has no Linux version, so does the Windows version run under Wine (unfortunately there's no appdb entry)?
It installs perfectly but I can't get past the loading screen since the game does not support Intel integrated graphics and somehow does not detect my discrete graphics card in Wine. Don't know how to fix that.

And yet you can't leave? ;-) Because GOG is the lesser of the x evils?
Looks interesting to me!

Huh, I thought it was because we locked the door and left the key with TinyE. Haven't seen it since then :(

Niggles: From twitter
"Triskell Interactive ‏@Triskell_Int Jan 2
New projects soon... "

So if you're into Caesar,Zeus, Pharaoh the way things are done, people should be fine ? :)
That wasn't really my question. I was asking if things had changed since TotalBiscut looked at it.
Well this is a genuine surprise to see this one here, delighted!

mrkgnao: It's called capitalism.

I am pretty sure the publisher of MOO paid for the privilege (or more accurately the customers who bought the InDev paid for it -- the publisher just decided how to wisely invest the money (after paying for the voice acting)).
I don't like the practice either, but I don't think it's quite that sinister. MoO is an AAA game, and GOG can't help but be sexcited about it. AAA games, however crappy, increase GOG's visibility and bargaining power and ultimately benefit all customers.

Bought the game.

RPM would imply a distro such as Fedora :P

(Yes, I know what the RPM stands for in IAmSinistar's post....)

Going to take a gamble and buy it without seeing the totalbiscuit review or any other reviews. Will be jumping between work, concerts and minimal sleep this weekend so won't get a chance to buy later before the %50 off is over. Well played on getting my money :)

IAmSinistar: Incidentally, still hating that GOG doesn't put the new releases at the fore in the front page carousel, but continues to eclipse them with whatever the latest In-Dev game is. Really unfriendly to folks who check the front page to see what is new.
Me too. Now I have to wait for the entire home page to load on mobile just to see what is new. I still don't like the new site on my mobile.
Need to add roller coasters and we can have a RCT-Steampunk edition...

Arch doesn't use RPMs :P

Looks interesting - too bad we won't get a port, I guess :(
