Ignition, a top-down racer in which the end-game is fun, is available now for Windows, Mac, and Linux, DRM-free on GOG.com

Fun, fast, and weird... that's Ignition in a nutshell.

From buggies through school busses, an assortment of racers plows through twisty, jumpy, shortcutty (and absolutely unique) tracks! There's no regard for safety, no time to explain, certainly no time to hit the brakes ever. (Do grab a friend and make time for the split-screen mode!) It's all about the race the finish no matter the cost – which does tend to make for a jolly ol' time.

Swerve and speed through crazy tracks in crazier races with Ignition, DRM-free on GOG.com.

OPstrator: I don't think, that this game had a DOS version, but maybe I am wrong.
Apparently there is a DOS version and we don't know which version GOG released:

OPstrator: So, this game can run in software mode and 3D accelerated mode (MMX, maybe? and than some DirectX?).
The best graphics you can get is, when you use Glide (with the help of a Glide Wrapper like Nglide).

I think it uses DirectX for Windows and OpenGL for other systems.

Anyway, wow, great release GOG!
Thanks for more arcade racers, these are always welcomed :)
So does it work automatically with nGlide or does it have to be configured manually?
Oh that is sooo cool to see Ignition here at GOG! Good old times, what did I like it back then... Nostalgia level over 9000!
Count me in :)
Wheeeeeeeeee!!!!!

Sorry, I'm just excited. I loved playing this one on my Athlon XP machine way back when, and my fingers almost stumbled over each other trying to type the card number as fast as possible when I bought it a few seconds ago.
Anyone looking at the images now for the first time can not relate to this, but this game was a graphics king to me back in the day, both technically and artistically.
Great release!! :) Even though I'm more into simulations, Ignition proved to be so fun, that kept me returning especially for the split-screen multiplayer which is FUN FUN FUN!
Just had my first race and oh shit the room is still spinning!

And using a game pad doesn't exactly work.

spyrosvk: Good old times... I was waiting for Ignition the same way as for Gothic and LBA.
Thank you, GOG team, for bringing this classic back to life and making my day!

PS. Does multiplayer over the internet work, too?
For now it seems to be disabled upon installation. But i'm not sure if maybe we need to setup Dosbox correctly and then try online multiplayer again,or maybe fiddle around with the game files a little ;) .If anybody knows more about this, feel free to give some valuable info :D.Cheers

There was a special .exe file in the original game for Windows which allowed multiplayer over the LAN as well as web.
Based on the number of nostalgia players in this forum, that kind of multiplayer could be a huge success ;-)
Two player split-screen mode
Instabuy on this weekend . My godson will love it .

mav2000ger: In Germany, it was also known as "Bleifuss Fun"! Actually I got two German originals of this game!
Thx for clearing this up, I was wondering, whether it was the game I had played the demo of in 1997.
I did not know that it was renamed for Germany due to marketing reasons I guess. The more you know guyz...
Looks like great fun a buy for me as it reminds me of supercars 2. Wish we could get that as well.
Does the game work with an Xbox 360 controller?
