Return to the Mothership

Homeworld Remastered Collection, containing the legendary space RTSs turned instant classics, is now available, DRM-free on GOG.com with GOG Galaxy support for achievements and multiplayer, and a 50% launch discount.

Homeworld brought real-time strategy into actual 3D, creating a truly free-form tactical experience across battlefields vast in every dimension. It did so in a way that's not just manageable, but overwhelmingly fun! This engrossing space opera chronicles the struggles of an alien race, the Kushan, locked in a vicious conflict with a tyrannical empire as they make their way to the promised land.
Homeworld 2 expanded on the setting and story even further, while refining the overall gameplay and visual experience. Now the whole saga has been remastered, putting a fresh coat of paint and techno-magic over this timeless experience, so that new and veteran players alike can finally return safely to their true Homeworld. This version also includes the latest massive patch, which brings tons of radical changes to formations, ship behavior, gameplay balance, and more.

The Homeworld Remastered Collection includes both the classic and remastered editions of Homeworld & Homeworld 2.
Dedicated fans can also grab the remastered soundtrack from both games, available in MP3 and FLAC.

Engage in full-scale battle between vast 3D fleets in Homeworld Remastered Collection, DRM-free on GOG.com. The 50% discount will last until June 10, 12:59 PM UTC.

wanderer_27: This GOG Connect now has me wondering if they may have shot themselves in the foot . . .

I really doubt there are a significant number of people that would buy their games on both platforms.

They didn't release the new version on Linux? That's disappointing :/ This would be an easy buy otherwise. Original CDs and Homeworld SDL to the rescue, I suppose.

I rebuy games for convenience.
If I own a game on CD I usually forget about it and never play it. xD

MIK0: To be fair we usually ended up paying for the same product twice if we wanted it on more than a store, so we are actually making things right, it's not that they are taking a loss as they were not entitled to that money out the same product. And most dev already provided the solution if asked ( apart from the case in which GOG opposed ), so it's good to have something automatic to accomplish the task.
paying for the same product twice -> yeah, it's crap for the consumer.
they were not entitled to that money out the same product -> eh? No, actually they are, if they want. It's a different store..
most dev already provided the solution if asked -> I wonder how many. Also, the opposite connect should be valid too to be completely fair.

I would. I have this on steam but I'm going to pull the trigger tomorrow. Not going to wait and see if this gets gog connected.

Why am I waiting until tomorrow, well I have some things I need to buy so I need to assess my funds and I'm giving myself time to sleep on it just in case I'm being over eager. I don't think a nights sleep will stop me.

Indeed. Someone who bought the game on Steam can play it on Steam. Gearbox and GOG would hardly have been expecting great profits from the "let's buy another digital copy of something I already have an arbitrarily-different digital copy of" crowd, because that crowd, whilst real, is very very small.
Now bring us Battlezone 98 redux!
Wow, Homeworld finally made it to GOG! So has anyone tried the the classic version compared to the newer version?
Randy Pitchford ? Passing .
Pure awesomeness!
Q2 has been one of the best quarters for GOG. Pretty awesome stuff!

Never played the game, but i'd like to try it out.
