Return to the Mothership

<span class="bold">Homeworld Remastered Collection</span>, containing the legendary space RTSs turned instant classics, is now available, DRM-free on GOG.com with GOG Galaxy support for achievements and multiplayer, and a 50% launch discount.

Homeworld brought real-time strategy into actual 3D, creating a truly free-form tactical experience across battlefields vast in every dimension. It did so in a way that's not just manageable, but overwhelmingly fun! This engrossing space opera chronicles the struggles of an alien race, the Kushan, locked in a vicious conflict with a tyrannical empire as they make their way to the promised land.
Homeworld 2 expanded on the setting and story even further, while refining the overall gameplay and visual experience. Now the whole saga has been remastered, putting a fresh coat of paint and techno-magic over this timeless experience, so that new and veteran players alike can finally return safely to their true Homeworld. This version also includes the latest massive patch, which brings tons of radical changes to formations, ship behavior, gameplay balance, and more.

The Homeworld Remastered Collection includes both the classic and remastered editions of Homeworld & Homeworld 2.
Dedicated fans can also grab the remastered <span class="bold">soundtrack from both games</span>, available in MP3 and FLAC.

Engage in full-scale battle between vast 3D fleets in <span class="bold">Homeworld Remastered Collection</span>, DRM-free on GOG.com. The 50% discount will last until June 10, 12:59 PM UTC.
not remastered oldie version (for normal oldie's price, of course) would be better
I don't like this putting classic versions with new versions instead of separate products. I would happily pay 5.99$ or even 9.99$ for classic versions of those games. But paying more for remaster I don't want? Even going as far as putting all versions in one installer... No, going to skip this one. Shame, because I missed Homeworld when it came out and always wanted to try it. Maybe someday, with a bigger discount...
Is the 50% worth it just for the original versions? Don't think my computer can handle the Remastered.

But it's 9.20$ a game with current discount ? Just ignore remasters...
Instabuy.

Hopefully the success of the sales will tempt someone to negotiate Cataclysm.

Great. I really like this. Classic and remastered version. Could not be better. Thanks GOG!
I've never heard about these games. But I hope we'll see Duke Nukem series back soon.
Never heard of this game or even seen it,time to check out some gameplay of it.
I don't know exactly what "Depth of Field" means but turning it off made me able to run Remastered much better with a lot of the other stuff turned way up.

AND for those of you unfamiliar with this game and still on the fence, here is a YouTube of the beginning of Mission #1. Keep in mind this is not full screen. :P Skip ahead to approx 2:50 for the sweet part.

IronArcturus: Really? Why was the LAN version removed from everything? That's pretty disappointing. :(

deja65: Yes, the LAN feature*was removed from the classic versions by GearBox for unknown(and probably stupid reasons), but our talented and awesome modding community re-enabled it in Homeworld 2 classic, and for Homeworld 1 classic the work is still in progress because of some stinky source code and engine quirks that punish our modders. So at least we have an option :).Cheers

EDIT: As far as i know, the original Homeworld's used WON( World Online Network) for online play, and that sucker went down 2004 or 2005, and according to some guys close to GearBox, LAN is actually somehow tied with WON multiplayer interface and code.So the guys at GB maybe didnt want to spend extra time fixing that.Hope this info helped. Cheers
While (admittedly many times in previous forum posts) I don't care about multiplayer, I think the name "Classic Edition" is misleading, in that it implies that LAN multiplay in in it (after all it's the "Classic" edition).

It should be named the "Neutered Classic Edition".
So good that this is on GOG. It's a classic RTS space sim that many other games have tried to copy but never matched. I look forward to takiing a look at the remastered versions. There's been some negativity towards them, but I'm just happy that the original editions are in there as well.

You're actually paying for Classic Homeworld games with Remasters on top of them, see. Definitely grab these on a discount, fantastic games (altho yes, I do actually prefer remasters)
