Avarice1987: How can i activate Mods with the GOG Version? i need help
To expand on rampancy's answer I believe the latest patch for the remaster broke all the mods made specifically for the remaster, but as he said, mods made for classic HW should just work as before

crazy_dave: I think the classic games might work fine through WINE but the Remastered might be more problematic. I don't know if the issues were solved, but while people got it to work on Linux, the Macs had more problems - seemingly related to poor OpenGL 3.3-Mac support through Wine.

However, that was awhile ago and things may have been fixed.

rampancy: After reading through the thread you linked, I'm not optimistic about HWR working on WINE in OS X. At least not until the graphics programmers at Apple get their collective heads out of their god damned asses and give us a competitive implementation of OpenGL.
Yeah. :( At first I thought it was just a Wine issue, but the later sources I found seemed to clarify that those had ben fixed and what was left was Apple's implementation (or lack thereof) of newer OpenGL features.

Ah well, hopefully Aspyr will bring their port over to GOG. :) They brought one game over, so there is hope!

homeworld got the discount changed from 50% to 30%
Drat! Now kicking myself for not buying this earlier.
If anybody here has a Gearbox account, consider posting a message of thanks to Gearbox for the GOG release in this thread - http://forums.gearboxsoftware.com/t/thanks-for-releasing-homeworld-on-gog-com/1503039/8

tinyE: They are there but you need to download the whole thing to get them, which is what I'm going through right now. :P

tritone: Your reply "implies" you're doing this on XP... is that true? Does anyone know if this bundle can play the CLASSIC versions on XP? Thx.
It seems that classic versions DO NOT RUN on XP. It looks like launcher causes the problem. Of course there are separate folders for HW1/HW2 but cannot run exe - system says it's not a valid win32 application.
So classic versions are not as 'original' as developer/GOG say..Bummer :-(

Sounds familiar. Those instructions naturally are specifically for the Nexus .exes.

I'm annoyed that I have to start dl'ng again because I wasn't able to get v2.0 in time & now there's a chance I won't be able to try it because I don't use galaxy

I thought whatever is on GOG Library is the same as Galaxy?

Also as a player of the original games, let me know how you find v2.0, I've been holding off because of ship formations etc.

What do you mean? If I try to understand what you wrote:

- The latest version of the GOG (non-Galaxy) version doesn't include v2.0, whatever that is. So it did before, but now it doesn't for some reason? Does it have an even newer version (v2.1?) instead, and is that a bad thing in some way? Or was the non-Galaxy version reverted to an older version?

- The Galaxy version has v2.0, but you think the non-Galaxy version will not have it anymore?

- It is unclear what all that has anything to do with you "having to start downloading again"? Download what? If the non-Galaxy version doesn't have v2.0 anymore and you will not use Galaxy, how will "downloading again" help you anyway?

Please elaborate.

timppu: [...]
I believe he may refer to the issue posted on HW subforums, that after 2.1 patch game crashes if no Galaxy is installed.
If it's indeed the case then it is of course a bug that will be fixed, however we won't be able to confirm that until Monday.
Damn completely forgot about the 50% discount. Oh bumo :(

That's weird, indeed.
Launch the game with 50% off then in the immediately following summer sale make it only 30% off.
maybe the game sold extremely well (with 50% off) and they got a little bit greedy ;)

You're annoyed that they made the discount *longer*, albeit at a lower rate?
