On the desolate moon of Lorian, a long-dormant Deadsuit awakens from slumber — armed and combat-ready, memory clear of purpose. But something new is stirring…

Ghost Song, atmospheric, action metroidvania is available on GOG! Journey beneath the surface on a 2D adventure of self-discovery, ancient mysteries, and cosmic terror. Explore winding caverns lit only by bioluminescent flora, battle strange and powerful creatures, and acquire new abilities to help you unearth this alien world’s long-buried secrets.

Descend deep into the darkness — only then will you learn (or is it remember?) the truth.
Wow, it finally happened. I remember being excited for this in 2015. Still excited. Hope it turned out.
For real, there was a time a few years ago where I had my doubts it would ever be released, but now it's finally here lol
never heard of it but reminds me of capsized. I don't normally play shmups or metroidvanias, hate backtracking, but that was pretty cool with a great soundtrack.
By review it seems this game only allows controller. Which seems a rather lacking PC port.

It's playable with a keyboard. Controller is the intended way to play, but keyboard works just fine.

And WHOO HOO! it finally made it! I've only been waiting EIGHT freaking years! Yes!!!

I am sincerely very excited. I don't know how long it's been since I saw the first trailer for this Metroid-inspired project. To the wish list. Thanks to GOG, Old Moon and Humble Games.

But no mouse support?

Matt said he was going to try and add some mouse support, possibly for free aiming, but I don't know how hard that will be to implement.
Some questions to try and determine what type of Metroidvania this is:
* Is your primary form of attack melee or ranged?
* Do you earn XP and level up by killing enemies?
* Is there a currency? Are there any towns?
* Do enemies frequently drop immediate pick-ups when used? (Immediate pick-ups are things like health/ammo refills that take effect the instant you pick them up.)
* Do enemies occasionally drop items that go into some sort of inventory?
* How does saving and player death work in this game?

1: Main attack is ranged, with Melee also available. Melee does bonus damage if your weapon has been fired into over heating.

2: You Earn XP by killing enemies. You can only level up at checkpoints.

3: there are NPCs, but no towns, exactly.

4: Enemies do not drop pick-ups. Actually, I am unsure if they do. I've never seen a pick up in my time playing the Demos.

5: Some Enemies have drops. I dont think those are random.

6: The game saves at checkpoints, or when you die. This game is somewhat like Dark Souls with death mechanics. If you die, you return to your last checkpoint with 10% internal damage (can only be repaired by spending currency at a checkpoint) and all your currency is dropped where you died. However, there is a mode (selectable at the start) wherein the penalties for death are reduced or eliminated.

Gorgeous graphics! This game appeals to me very much. :) Gonna wishlist it for now, until I find out if it will run on my W7 clunker. :P
I was wondering if this would have shown up here, glad it did!
I've been intrigued since I first stumbled upon this title by chance.
Nice graphics but why do I feel I've seen this before?

A premonition, or it's come back to haunt you ?...
