To celebrate the title’s fifth birthday, Techland decided to give all Dying Light fans a new DLC. 5th Anniversary Bundle contains goodies like new armor, weapon blueprints, and weapons themselves (including Hellbeast, a devastating shotgun).

Of course, we figured out that the mentioned game’s anniversary is also a great occasion to start a dedicated sale on GOG.COM featuring Dying Light deals up to 70% off lasting until 24th February, 6 pm UTC.

mechmouse: We did miss out on the gemly exclusive content though, as it could only be unlocked via the Docket system that never got supported for the GoG version.
We did get one Gemly item. That was the Harran Military Rifle. I'm guessing a lot of people didn't acquire it, though. The files for all of the other Gemly items are included with the GOG version, but you have to use a mod to access them.

Pawel1995: These are all "only" skins for weapons,outfits and the car? Or is there any other mission dlc or sth similar that is RLY worth getting for me?
In the case of weapons, these are not skins, but blueprints of new weapons. They have various useful features like increased experience when killing with this weapon or increased damage after the third hit, etc..
But in general, all these DLCs do not contain new missions or anything like that. They contain exactly what is written in their description. You can open the link for each of the DLC and read.

DarkBattler: No, everything that was exclusive to Gemly was recently added via a previous update.
Cheers, didn't know that

Not a lot of people, it seems. Techland are not the best at communication.

If you scroll down in your blueprints, you will find a "10-IN-12 WEAPONS" category.
This category contains the Gemly weapons.
The outfits and buggy paint jobs are, however, even harder to find since they are mixed with the others.
I should have said all that in my previous message...

The only things missing now are the Left 4 Dead 2 Weapon Pack and the Chivalry Weapon Pack, as well as some weapons available only for the Steam users. These weapons are redeemable using the dockets dedicated website.
It seems like a lot, only because it is.

kdgog: "To celebrate the title’s fifth birthday, Techland decided to give all Dying Light fans a new DLC."

That's potentially misleading wording - they've made another one which can be bought, or which has been made available.

When you "give" something it's a gift, i.e. free. They're selling it to fans, not giving it to them.
agreed

makes it sound like theyre doin' you a favor

rather than
'to celebrate teh anniversary pay us moar monies'
I don't really mind because they have given this game so much support. This is just one of those cases where I take umbridge with the word give. It feels like click bait title.

Ganni1987: Dear Techland,

The GOG release of your game is still missing all the Free DLC from the Steam version. Since you don't seem to have issues in releasing paid DLC's you might want to consider releasing the Free ones too.

GOG users deserve the same content as the Steam ones.

Here, this is what's missing:

Original Soundtrack
3D Printer Models
Collector's Artbook
Wallpaper Pack
Book
Left 4 Dead 2 Weapons Pack
Chivalry Weapon Pack

DoomSooth: I'm guessing you don't own the game. That stuff is all available. The files from the weapon packs are in the GOG version. You'll have to use other means to access them, though.
I do own the game and all the paid DLC's. Got any suggestions to these 'other means'?

mechmouse: All this support keeps me hopeful for a GoG release of DL2.
Hell yes! My thoughts exactly

Having bought the Original Game on Steam, and The Following Edition here, I understand your confusion
Originally the Only Game Goodies were the three marked by the TF name

character artworks (7) = dying_light_tf_character_artworks.zip
monster artworks (9) = dying_light_tf_enemy_artworks.zip
posters (5) = dying_light_tf_posters.zip

The other 5, now downloadable in the Game Goodies section (looks like GOGs now remamed that to Extras), were only available to Steam users, and even for them they had to jump though several hoops, and sign up to Techland's pathetic attempt at a store client.

This gave them access to 4 free bonus skins, you still can't get on GOG, a free Prima Guide, if you sign up to Prima's store site, and the other 5 extras you now also can get on GOG.

wallpapers (9) = Dying-Light-Wallpapers-Pack.zip
novella = dying_light_novel.zip
soundtrack (MP3) = dying_light_original_soundtrack.zip
artbook = Dying-Light_Artbook.zip
3D printer models (3) = dying_dight_3D_printer_models.zip

These ones I know nothing about;
Left 4 Dead 2 Weapons Pack
Chivalry Weapon Pack

Apparently given out with some Community event, so online co-op/multiplayer crap I don't give a damn about.
I assume you had to be part of the event to get them.

Only the Following is an expansion worth buying
All the Bundles, are "Skinonomy" microtransactions, and wortless trash.
As CDPR would say, these should be Free DLC.

avatar
Pawel1995: I was really proud of my countrymen from Techland for their approach in many aspects, their releases etc. but they clearly treat GOG as 2nd or 3rd tier customers.
That's because, like it, or not, GOG customers, are 3rd Tier customers;
Consoles are 1st Tier, Steam 2nd, All the Rest 3rd

When collectively, we are less than 1% of their customers, what do you expect?:

It's not an issue, at best it's a feature request.
Cross play between GOG, and Steam was never promised as a feature for this Game, as far as I'm aware.

avatar
Pawel1995: And that's not even the worst part. The worst part is that Techland is a huge company and they ignore every complain here on gog. There are no Community managers or anything equivalent here in the forums, actually helping people out.
Now you're getting silly, there's no guarantee of that, with any game. You must go to where they provide support, Often their sites forums, if they still have them, but even if it's the Steam forums, and five years after release, few devs will still be providing any support, on any site.
avatar
Pawel1995: I think, quite a few people will think twice before buying Dying Light 2
Really, why exactly do you buy games on GOG?
For me the main reason, I own 80% of my games on GOG, is because I get an offline installer, and never need to use the store client, that's all I want. DRM free is very nice, but if I had to make a choice, between getting a client free, game and DRM, I'd take the DRM, to get rid of Steam, Origin, Uplay, etc.

Dev support is so far down the list, it can drop off without making a damn bit of difference, it's other users I turn to to fix issues, not the devs, often the devs are the issue I want to fix, and mods do that for me, far more often than customerr support ever will.

Granted, I don't want Co-op/Multiplayer features, poxy store achievements, and all the bloated crap that comes with store clients. Also Galaxy 2.0 is not required, I've always had ALL MY games in one place, my desktop full of shortcuts, non GOG games, open Store Clientt, and It's immediatly minimised, and game runs.
So lets just say all I want is:
The Single Player Game, the whole Single Player Game, and nothing but the Single Player Game. So help me GOG.
It's not necessary to play multiplayer to participate in an event. However, you will need Galaxy.
Is there still a way to optain the Harran Military Rifle (formerly gemly shop exclusive?) today? It was region blocked for us germans and now the store seems to have been closed for good. :(
