Blizzard Entertainment and GOG.COM have teamed up to rerelease select classic Blizzard games, beginning with Diablo®, Blizzard’s legendary 1996 action role-playing game that introduced players to the harsh—and deeply rewarding—world of Sanctuary.

The original Diablo® is available now via digital distribution for the first time ever on GOG.COM. Players looking for the authentic Diablo experience can play the game as it was in 1996, with period-appropriate 20 FPS SVGA graphics, and the ability to matchmake through the classic version of Blizzard’s Battle.net® online-gaming service.

Blizzard and GOG.COM have collaborated on an updated version of the game, which includes out-of-the-box Windows 10 compatibility, and a host of bug fixes. Players can choose either version of the game from a launcher.
HOLY MOLY!
Hell definitely froze today!
thank you gog.

OPlayer-SI: So is there hope for let's say Wacraft 1 trough 3? Maybe even the remaster?

Oh and there are games like BlackThorne, Lost Vikings etc. (yeah, I know most of these games are free on blizzard website, but anyway).
Warcraft 1 and 2 were already announced for the future. :)
Nice job!

The real question is when are you going to add Diablo II?!!
This is quite a feat. I'm not sure I'll be buying, at least right now - diablo 1 was the first real deal, which means it contained a lot of mechanics that were since recognized by the industry to be bad and would be hard to swallow today (foremost is the ability to loose months of progress when your corpse is trapped behind hordes of monsters that make very short work of your naked self). The other promised games though... I think warcraft 3 must have aged really well. One of the few games I bought before digital era and still own the disc. And guaranteed buy anyway.

For me I would also like to know when are they also going to add Blackthorne and Lost Vikings as well as Diablo 2
I'm pretty sure I paid less for Diablo when I bought it back in 2000. I got it out of the bargain bin shortly before D2 released.

Still, glad to have this here.

I'm really waiting for Warcraft 2 though.

Mac support please!
I've already scored two copies, one for me and one for my spouse. I can't wait to sink my teeth into this.

Thank you, GOG. Keep being great.

As for the other "select" titles you have lined up from Blizzard...my body is ready :D

(sorry pawel, wrong quote)

https://arstechnica.com/gaming/2019/03/original-diablo-is-now-on-sale-for-10-drm-free-but-not-on-blizzards-app/ mentions the soundtrack as bonus goodie. Is that a mistake?

"GOG's version comes with a few goodies, including FLAC and MP3 versions of the original soundtrack (yes) and a high-res scan of the original manual (yes). Enjoy a few of its pages in this gallery."
