BreOl72: Following this discussion
(and way too many others exactly like it (both here on GOG and online in general)), I can't help but think of this story from the book Genesis
(2.0):
On the first day, the internet got created.
On the second day, the trolls appeared.
On the third day, a wise man advised us all to "
ignore the trolls".
On the fourth day, most of us chose to ignore the wise man's words.
From the fifth day on, the online experience unavoidably turned into the cesspool it still represents today.
On the 6th day, mankind how hilarious and fun online discussions can be ;)
That is if they don't involve the Beer Virus.
JuWalk: Oh, talk about the quality of these games again. I remember once the bombardier already tried to say something about this, but somehow he very quickly ran away from uncomfortable questions. Maybe I'll get an answer this time?
bombardier: The clear demonstration that you are wrong about the superior quality of porn game is a simple visual identity test. If you show a random person a screenshot from Psychonauts and Darkest Dungeons, then show them different screenshots from same games, he/she will unmistakably recognize which of the new screenshots belongs to which game. I bet that even you will have trouble correctly identifying screenshots from different porn games. Me: Seriously? Are you really using Psychonauts and Darkest Dungeons as an argument? These are games of completely different genres. Will a random person be able to immediately distinguish the screenshots of Battlefield and Medal of Honor? What about Civilization and Age of Empires? What about racing games? Or maybe the games of the 80's are so easy to distinguish from each other? Hell no! For those who have not played these games, they will almost all be "on the same face." But that doesn't mean all these games are bad. Yup take Secret of Mana and Chrono Trigger back on the Snes (Taking those because RPG Maker generally tries to aim for the 16 bit feel, and yes I know there's been done a lot more with it.)
They have a distinctive Art style but uniniated can't tell the 2 apart from one or 2 Screenshots.
In regards to Darkest dungeon, Iratus Lord of the dead would probably be a better comparison or Vambrace ? whatever it is called.
Very different games, similar princibpe similar art style, people that know them can tell them apart easily.
Uniniated, not so easy.
