Vengeance in a nutShell.

Bombshell, a top-down, explosive action-RPG about extracting some sweet intergalactic revenge, is available now DRM-free on GOG.com with GOG Galaxy achievements and a 10% launch discount.

The "Washington Incident" has certainly left a bad taste in Colonel Shelly Harrison's smart mouth. Quite understandably so, since it was there that she lost her right arm and the rest of her bomb squad. Now working as a mercenary and sporting a handy mechanical arm made from mostly unknown materials, Bombshell is eager to start kicking serious alien butt across four different planets.

Slip into the shell of foul-mouthed Shelly "Bombshell" Harrison and blast away the legions of ugly aliens that seek to destroy our humble planet. The past-paced, frantic gunplay and the imposing bosses in 3D Realms' latest offering will leave you no time for chewing bubblegum but what you will have in abundance are opportunities for crude comebacks. Use them wisely, wise-guy.

Punch and blast some manners into the alien terrorists as foul-tempered Bombshell, available now, DRM-free on GOG.com. If you want to do it with even more gusto, be sure to grab the soundtrack and artbook included in the Bombshell Deluxe Edition. But if you are not ready to commit yet, you can always get the Bombshell Deluxe Edition Upgrade later. The 10% launch discount will last until February 08, 5:59 PM GMT.

Q&A incoming!

Got some questions only the developers can answer? Join us for a Q&A on the GOG.com forums on Monday, February 1st at 6pm GMT (that is 7pm CET, 1pm EST, 10am PST). Join us to chat with two of the men behind the game - Fred Schreiber, CEO/dev of Interceptor & VP of 3D Realms, and Scott Miller, founder of 3D Realms. See you there!
$30 is honestly a reasonable price for a game like this - even if it isn't billed as one, it seems to fit into the category of "budget" game quite nicely. This seems like the kind of game that would sell for $30 in the 90s, and then quickly be relegated to cheap second hand sales and bargain bins as a pack-in with another game.

guppy44: This is a bummer. I've been following this game forever waiting for its release. As a huge fan of 3D Realms I have been planning on snapping this up right away, and have been counting down the 29 days prior to release. I can't believe it's getting the reviews it is. :(

omega64: Seems like it'll be at least decent if you wait for them to fix the bugs.
I have faith they'll patch it and make it an enjoyable game.

I think I may pick up the Deluxe Edition today. I can let it sit in backlog for a while as I have many new games to get to yet. I just want to support 3D Realms, and honestly I have huge nostalgic goggles. The 3D Realms Anthology is one of the greatest releases in my book. :)

I'm not sure you should support them for releasing buggy games. It's your money though. :P

Those were the days. Actual retail games. Massively oversized boxes. Bargain bins. Computer hardware bundled with physical games rather than a download voucher. And truly bundled games where you could buy packs such as LucasArts packs with 6 games included with a bonus game and demo disc to boot. :)

You're completely right. I shouldn't, but we'll see if I can hold out or not. :)

liquidsnakehpks: disappointed with how the game turned out , a huge fan of 3d realms i wasn't bothered by the score reviews but after lgr's review i think i will pass this game for now until its in a bundle or a massive sale
i saw the lgr review as well. He did say the review was on version which wasnt the final copy right at end of the review however. I am wondering whether the finished game is any different from that review?

This never happened with Rise of the Triad 2013. It's still one of the sloppiest, most poorly designed shooters I've ever played.
I'm not into score that much, but it's a surprise.
Wonder if this one will have the same fate as Orion (the dino fps game) had/has. I mean, will they patch up the entire thing until is becomes "cool" or will it sink?
So, the main character is a female Duke Nukem with a gameplay close to Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light ?
Why not a badass FPS instead ? True FPS with a babe as main character are so rare !
The game looks very average regarding to its system requirement btw.

I've never played that game. I love the original RotT so that's disappointing to read. :(
I see that this game include the ultimate trollface

I enjoyed the original RotT too, dispite it's rough edges I can still enjoy it today for what it was at the time.

The new one is a disaster. It tries to stay "old school" but only in dated, arbitrary ways and it fails catastrophically. The level design is cramped, contrived and confusing, enemies almost exclusively stand in one spot and shoot at you like aimbots while wearing drab uniforms that blend into the ugly, bland environments, in fact they blend in so much that many times I simply couldn't tell where I was being shot from, the completely broken damage indicator didn't help either. The animations are as stiff and unnatural as they come, movement speed feels too fast, it has performance issues, and the weapons that aren't explosive feel like pea shooters.

It genuinely feels like a half finished UT3 mod, not a legit full release.

Actually he pointed in the first comment at the video that he played the game with launch day patch so its the final release version he got there.

Quoting: "the last version I played before posting this review was version 1.0.10182, which includes the launch day patch"
