Just to make sure that everybody is aware about this.
Beat Hazard 2 right now cannot be played offline. This has been tested and confirmed today.
Before the devs fixed this glaring issue imo we should NOT support them by buying other games from them.

Edit: Beat Hazard 2 + 3 have been fixed and can now be run without being online or using Galaxy.

When the first sentence mentions Galaxy who would be surprised if the game had a hard Galaxy requirement. ;-)

And to top it all off, according to a user in the forums of this new game and on GOGdb (version number), the offline installers are for Beat Hazard 2, not 3.

...Why does GOG let toxic devs keep posting their games without an editor between them? Grimore comes to mind.

Let's expel it together....https://www.gog.com/forum/general/coming_soon_beat_hazard_3_47dd3/post9

I'm so happy to test it like Beat Hazard 2 today .... I will dance to catch better downloading speeds... Two Point Hospital from Sega works perfectly from offline installation, even knowing it has its leaderboard and community quests... I am expecting the same behavior from this game, why? To play it!

I saw reviews on the game and think that the gamer who told about the DRM in the game is right. gog company needs to understand that users will eat it alive if those madlads will continue to release games with DRM.
Also want to add that Galaxy (version 2.0) is complete garbage, almost none of the features work properly. Besides that Galaxy is so stuttery that you cannot even see what games you have. gog Galaxy is a huge disappointment in comparison to the Steam software.

Why are games that can't run without Galaxy here on Gog? This is unacceptable given Gog's DRM-free stated stance.

I will not give this game a 1-star review. Because I can`t play! xD

Dear Gogers we will be beheading this game today like we did with some games, and like you did before I went active here.
Sun bringing things to light. I must care for the truth.

There is a page
https://www.gog.com/galaxy
"An optional gaming client
GOG GALAXY is the optional client to install & update GOG games, with features like cloud saves, update roll-backs, achievements, and is a convenient way to manage your cross-platform library while staying in touch with friends."

Dear GOG why are you letting that be a lie? For one game?

This is not a multiplayer online game like Wolfenstein Enemy Territory, this is a single & co-op game for DRM-Free Sake.
.... yet.... why remove a game that can be fixed? Fix it, please. It can`t be played from an offline installer.
Loading "messages" endlessly..... Impossible to play. It's asking to connect to the server. Without it's not going anywhere.
This is a form of rights management. Stop managing my rights that way! Refunding. Cool.

That's a shame. Yeah, with that hard online requirement, it's definitely a no-go for me. Would have loved to actually play it. =/

We're looking into the issues guys!

More like DRM Hazard, am I right?

Alright, here are some updates regarding the issues with Beat Hazard 2 and Beat Hazard 3:

1. Beat Hazard 2 - the game couldn't be played without an internet connection and would be stuck in the loading screen trying endlessly to establish a connection.

We've had this issue before, which was later fixed, but it seems that the latest update for the game has brought it back. Right now, we've forced a rollback to the previous version (free of this problem) and we'll investigate it further to get rid of it in the 1.23 version.

EDIT: version 1.20 suffers from this issue as well, even though we thought we'd fixed it. Looking into it.

2. Beat Hazard 3 - the same issue, where without an internet connection the game is stuck in the loading screen trying endlessly to establish a connection.

However, this one is a bit different because it does not occur when the game has been launched at least once with an active internet connection. So if you want to play it offline, you have to run it with the Internet just one time - no connection is required after that one launch.

Of course, we are well aware that it is not an ideal situation and we'll also look into it to get rid of it completely.

Sorry for the inconvenience and thank you for raising it!

Breja: More like DRM Hazard, am I right?
Only since we started counting bugs as DRM. But I guess since DRM today = everything I do not like, then I guess that's fine
