ArcaniA and the standalone expansion Fall of Setarrif, the open-world RPGs that continue the Gothic saga, are now available, DRM-free on GOG.com, with a 75% launch discount.

As you embark on a journey of revenge, you quickly realise a far greater evil hides behind the attack and your life is now tangled with an alluring woman who holds a powerful artifact.
As you roam the open world of the Southern Islands, slaying terrifying beasts and completing challenging quests, you'll get to pick your character's skills and customize him entirely as you see fit. Tons of shiny loot, quirky NPCs you may or may not remember from your Gothic adventures, and ferocious encounters await you. But just when you thought evil was defeated, the epic tale continues in Fall of Setarrif, the standalone expansion that sends our hero to a remote area where a demon has found refuge, threatening to spread its dark influence anew.

Already told GOG - discount will be live in a second :)
No. These are not Gothic games. I refuse to accept that.
Does not mean they are bad game on their own ;-)

Wow, you guys rock. Thanks for bringing this one here. :)
nice, thanks gog and nordic ;)
Thanks Nordic!

Are the games any good?
Awesome release! Totally solid action-rpg despite what the naysayers may say. not as deep or difficult as gothic, sure, but not every rpg needs to be.
Turns out I had a copy of this already ( from some magazine ) and started playing it just recently. I have to say, if you're a fan of the older Gothic games, you're in for a certain degree of disappointment. It's pretty, and has a few good ideas here and there, but overall it doesn't have the same attention to detail and realism as the rest of the series. It's only little things here and there, but the result is that it just doesn't feel quite as fun and satisfying to explore the world of Arcania.

None the less, it's great to see the series completed here on GOG, especially with the upcoming ELEX GOG release already announced. And at the current discount Arcania is still worth a look, just don't expect it to be exactly like the other Gothic games. I give it a few extra points for the "Sean Connery" cameo. XD
I see so much beauty in these screenshots but the metacritic score implies that the game is mediocre. I'm off to read some reviews, in order to see why.. I hope it's the same case as with Gothic 3, where the unofficial patch claims to have made the game better.

Whether the game is good or not, thanks Nordic & GOG for the great launch discount! :)

Nice game. I already own it DRM-free though (ShinyLoot).

I wonder, why it took so long to come here.
