You’re in for a treat – we have some fun titles from HeartCoreDev! Synthetic Lover and The Symbiant are coming to GOG with amazing extras!

Synthetic Lover is a LGBTQ+ visual novel that takes place in 2066. Biologically engineered humanoids called “biots” make up a large percentage of the workforce; as a protagonist, you take up the role of one of the boots who, like the rest of his colleagues, lives to serve a single purpose: to fulfill his pre-programmed vocation. It’s a story about an individual who discovers the challenges of being a human, and during his journey navigates through the ups and downs of an imperfect life – learning to understand emotions, forming friendships, and possibly finding love along the way. Apart from the base game, you can enjoy the universe even further: through an Official Choice Guide, Artbook and an Official Soundtrack. All Synthetic Lover titles launch with a -25% discount; the offer ends on February 3, 3 PM UTC.

The Symbiant is, as well a LGBTQ+ visual novel, similarly set in a futuristic universe, in the year 5066. It’s a story of two men from entirely different worlds, embracing their newfound romance – Danya, the protagonist, after a troubled transport gig that left his and his friend’s beloved ship in a need of repair, receives a generous offer of transporting a mysterious alien calling himself Brahve. It is a tale of interstellar friendship and a quickly growing affection between two men. You can find even more content in a few extra titles: Game Choice & Achievement Guide, Artbook & CG Pack, and an Official Soundtrack. All The Symbiant titles launch with a -10% discount; the offer ends on February 3, 3 PM UTC.

If you still can’t decide, try out Synthetic Lover Demo and The Symbiant Demo!

MarkoH01: Here you go - and thanks to Dev0_NZ for making this script so fast:
https://gist.github.com/NZDev0/778e2a1617bf72f1eb34e7f788806d9c

It is a very basic script and you'll have to edit your "blocklist" manually inside the script (which is pretty easy, just tried it myself). Also the hidden games will just not show but still take place. So instead of the games you will just see the grey space but it is better than nothing, no? If you should want any improvements just say so and he'll see what he can do.

DD & Ji Ji: the script doesn't work in FireMonkey
you need the @match url to be the exact one as gogs homepage

mine was /en on the end, his didnt have that. titles must be exact as well

N1c3_0n3: Just wanted to say that I'm not very happy to see these games here. Makes me a sad gog customer. I would elaborate further but I'm not sure I'm really allowed to
So do not buy games like this. There are many games on gog I do not like, so I do not buy them. It works like a charm.
"LGBTQ+ stands for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer (or sometimes questioning), and others. The "plus" represents other sexual identities including pansexual and Two-Spirit. The first four letters of the acronym have been used since the 1990s, but in recent years there has been an increased awareness of the need to be inclusive of other sexual identities to offer better representation. "

I fail to see the political content here. GOG obviously goes by the same definition my 5s google search just offered.

You must have missed the memo.

Everything is about politics now, including established scientific facts, when they happen to be inconvenient for what you believe in.

Why let a pesky thing like empirically observable reality get in the way of your beliefs? Just put a political spin on it, make your own facts and problem solved.

I believe that in the very near future, I won't be able to mention that I've had carrots in my supper last night without generating some kind of raging "political" debate with people strongly objecting.

And what about your sickening post?.
A game can be ignored. But your intolerant post borderng bygotry and clearly against the forum rules is unavoidable. Sadly this is starting to be a chore in this kind of threads.

Isilduuuuuuuuuur! Cast it into the fire!

Themken: I think some people would find it easier to deal with this and other games they dislike if there was a way to block games or tags. A few clicks and you will never see the game ever again.
Not that I don't agree, but to elaborate I'd argue there already is: simply ignoring them in one's on psyche, as you would ignore other games from a genre you're not particularly interested in. It seems that the skill of our forefathers - of not being bothered by what didn't interest them - has been lost these days.

I don't know about you, but when somebody calls me a pervert, I take it as a compliment :P. Anyway, this discussion is so 1980s... are we going in circles?

I'd say some are simply better with evolution than others ;) On the other hand we all know that history will always repeat itself.

you know what makes me a sad gog customer?

shooters. they're so bland. [and it just feels like a waste of a release day, to me. could have been something cool like an adventure game or an rpg, but oh well. it's a shooter. whee!]

but you know what? it's cool that gog releases shooters, because other people are interested in them.

[Removed.]

this is a site that sells games to people who want to buy games.
there's no propaganda here.
if you don't want to buy them, then..
...just don't buy them.

[and ignore the front page that sells them.]

40 minutes or so later:

the comments are about what i expected. missed the opening salvo of posts which were probably massively popcorn-worthy, though. ah well. :(

i have to agree that seeing gay cartoon / hentai on gog's main page is also an unpleasant surprise for me. if some people enjoy those, more power to them, but i just consider that this isn't the same gog that i signed up for

now if your smart solution is for me to ignore the main page, I'd say it is *so* considerate on your side to basically say: "if you don't agree just leave"

now i can see y'all starting to call me names for stating this opinion but in fact i agree with the post above that described this as "propaganda"

Savagesouls: Keep all the lgbt propaganda out of the front store. Just put them in a separate part of the store so I don't have to see nsfw stuff when i check the gog store around people. And all the sorry/lonely perverts still get their sickneing games.

MarkoH01: So just that I understand you correctly - and make it easier for the mods - did you just call me a pervert bevcause I like nsfw stuff?

avatar
N1c3_0n3: Tbh you're doing backseat moderation which is also against the forum rules
avatar
MarkoH01: You obviosuly don't know what moderation is. If a community member complains about a certain post and reminding the poster that it is also against the forum policy it has nothing to do with any moderation at all. The sad fact here is that community members even HAVE to remind others about the forum rules - should be a given.
excerpt from the rules:
"If you see a person breaking the rules, don’t attempt to moderate - let GOG Staff or GOG Community Moderators know and ignore the post(s), threads, etc."

by "letting them know" they mean "report", by "don’t attempt to moderate" they mean exactly what that user was doing here.
