IAmSinistar: No, but if that's what you're reading into my words, so be it. You're either interested in a discussion, or you've got a closed mind and are only willing to hear what agrees with you. If it's the latter, I won't waste my time then.
He's not. I've yet to see them engage in dialogue in a resourceful and adult-like way; it's always insults and name calling, regardless of subject.

Quite so. Most of the Canadians I know are intelligent, polite, and progressive people. So obviously their dickheads have to be major dickheads to balance that out. :)

HijacK: What's up with German people wanting everything in German? >_> They don't even make subs for my language, we need community mods for that, and we aren't complaining. (=_=*)

I'll just leave it here, in spite of maybe not understanding the greater picture: Buy the games because they're fun, not because they have an X feature otherwise you may not even notice.
To put it simply, Steam has the German language, while GOG doesn't. It doesn't help that one of the excuses that Daedalic gave for the lack of German language was the former lack of regional pricing here.

Exactly. Its like as if gog users are second class citizens for Daedalic.

So, question for you guys, I tried to respond to a dev who asked how to get the same income return from every buyer after the new EU VAT system in 2015 but conclusions is more or less the same : from a business POV, it gives less headaches to apply base price + local VAT which gives regional pricings (as your net income would stay the same for each unit sold).

Here's the original thread:

So does anyone have some suggestions? (the "get an accountant" would be costly if you only sell 100 units ^o^)

Maybe just to point out to you that if you sell to every EU country you will have to abide by their laws for VAT. So in some countries you will have to register at the tax office since tax income levels are different, in some countries you won't have to register cause the threshold is lower, etc. There are whole threads online about this. Accountant at this point is more or less a must. The system is fucked up to be fair.

Personally I think you should go with a higher flat price that would cover the differences in princing, cause with the systems that gog and steam use you will always loose money in different countries unless you make a bigger number of country applied regional prices. The fairest thing would be your base price + vat but that is not doable with the current system or better to say the system does not work like that since the price is always higher then the applicable vat amount.

Luckily (or not...) they've set up the MOSS so that's one less headache

EDIT: Oh god, I didn't even knew VAT threshold existed (here we have to register instantly). No wonder our economy is shitty ^o^

More games for your list:

These are at least regional priced in Russia.
http://www.gog.com/game/kings_bounty_warriors_of_the_north
http://www.gog.com/game/kings_bounty_warriors_of_the_north_complete_edition_upgrade
http://www.gog.com/game/kings_bounty_warriors_of_the_north_complete_edition
And hilariously, no Russian language is included.
It doesn't surprise me at all though since a lot of games have that problem. Either GOG is very bad at getting these or the licenses are a bitch. (but that doesn't hold back GOG's competitors to have more languages available)
Thanks. I would have been surprised if these had turned out not to be.

I was just re-reading this line I wrote in the original post:

Hopefully it will remain short, with needed updates infrequent.

Ah, so optimistic in those days...

I guess then that everything's going according to plan on GOG's end - no one gets surprised anymore, few complain, and more get tricked by the lack of mention of the price blurb and buy them. Wonder how PaterAlf will feel when he finds out.
Well, this is a first - the games don't appear as choices in the GOGmix dropdown. Maybe a glitch, perhaps they'll be added later.

It's because the games are missing from GOG's catalogue.
