catpower1980: So, question for you guys, I tried to respond to a dev who asked how to get the same income return from every buyer after the new EU VAT system in 2015 but conclusions is more or less the same : from a business POV, it gives less headaches to apply base price + local VAT which gives regional pricings (as your net income would stay the same for each unit sold).
Here's the original thread:

Maybe just to point out to you that if you sell to every EU country you will have to abide by their laws for VAT. So in some countries you will have to register at the tax office since tax income levels are different, in some countries you won't have to register cause the threshold is lower, etc. There are whole threads online about this. Accountant at this point is more or less a must. The system is fucked up to be fair.
Personally I think you should go with a higher flat price that would cover the differences in princing, cause with the systems that gog and steam use you will always loose money in different countries unless you make a bigger number of country applied regional prices. The fairest thing would be your base price + vat but that is not doable with the current system or better to say the system does not work like that since the price is always higher then the applicable vat amount.
