Its just incredible how the excuse for giving former Soviet Union countries a discount is because 'they have a lower standard of living so we are making the games more affordable', yet people objectively worse off get the middle finger.
I can understand asking full price for a boxed copy you had to pay workers to box/make, but this is just a bloody series of numbers you have to type in so you can download a game off the internet. The video-game industry rides eastern Europeans for the high levels of piracy in our countries but what the hell do they expect? Wikipedia says my country has an average monthly wage of 400 euro's, but people over here are happy when they can even find 200-300e jobs. Do I really have to go into detail why 60 euro games don't sell well over here?
People want to buy games, Steam has grown massively over here over the last 2 years but you can't expect us to pay these prices and complain about piracy. It's just a code that unlocks access to something on the internet, you can't even resell it. Many many more of my friends would be buying games if the just weren't so damn expensive compared to how much money we can make in a month.
I'm thinking about getting engaged in a few months, say I finish collage in a year and find a normal paying job though I highly doubt it. Say after I pay my bills/rent I have 150 euro to last me a month, buy food/gas ect. How hard do you think my fiance is going to ride my ass when I spend 5 euro on an Indiana Jones adventure game from 1995? Compare it to how much flack someone making 3k euro is going to get from his wife for buying the same game.
