stg83: Very interesting, nice catch Gragar as I had actually forgotten about that response. In short everything started spiraling down after the good news announcements and subsequent reassurances and the trend keeps continuing. Next will be regionally locked movies I presume since it would be very difficult for GOG to expand their movie catalog otherwise.
I must say that I was surprised that we received a regionally-locked game before a movie, as I feared the opposite would happen.

And, please excuse my choice of words, but @all of you: SHUT THE FUCK UP with regional pricing!
Thanks to the fair price package regional pricement on GOG DOES NOT BLOODY FUCKING MATTER!

Everybody with basic calculation skills can proof this under the assumption that folks are buying a mix of regional priced and non regional priced games! Well, even if there´d only be regional priced games it wouldn´t be a huge it!
I must have missed your appointment to some sort of official GOG status that gives you authority to dictate what people may or may not post.

You are entitled to your opinion and take on the matter, and expressing them, and no one has told you to shut up; but so is everyone else that has different ones, and you have no right to tell anyone to shut up.

Grargar: Nah, it was an original fear from day one.
Since when has GOG only been around for a year?

Seriously though, I'm well aware of that response. But prior to that, GOG used to have a page stating their core principles, "one price, worldwide availability" used to be stated on that page. The page was silently removed at some point before TET made that comment.

And again I'll remind people that they should not let the line "we would effectively apply the Australian censorship to 190+ other countries in the world" cloud their thoughts on this subject. As that line is PR spin and nothing else. Remember the original ban on this game is based, in part, on so-called "thrusting actions" that NEVER existed. The publisher has grounds for an appeal due to that and yet chooses not to bother.

By day one I meant "day one of the regional pricing announcement", hence why I linked TET's response. I'm well aware of GOG's principles, but let's just say that one of them was severely beaten to the ground and it's on life support.

HijacK: You could on the other hand just access the store using the IP from another country and purchase the game on your account. I don't see an issue with that, and you still support GOG.
avatar
gunsynd: Not really interested in trying technical stuff like that, even if it's easy.I'm sure Gog can survive without my money for one game that I may or not buy from them..
I'm sure they can.

I never said something like that. What I´ve told you was that it has been proven with basic calculations-> no discussion has got any sense left. What I do mean with SHUT THE FUCK UP is kind of obvious: I don´t wanna see this discussion in any damn thread to any damn topic reappear. It´s over, due to the fact that it was possible to bring it down to earth, aka a scientific (mathematic) proof and that´s proof results cannot be discussed, only the assumtions that were made to reach the result!

And yes, of course I can say SHUT THE FUCK UP, as this is a more agressive form of "would you please consider to step away from that topic and move on to something that hasn´t been discussed in every detail and got only one proven statement?", nothing more, nothing less and all of that is pretty obvious!
So, do the "Commandos" games have a region lock now? I cannot search for them on the site, and googling "commandos + gog" provides me with links, but I get a 404 when I click on them. >_>

Try a direct link just to see if it is not just a problem of the many bugs here on the website:
http://www.gog.com/game/commandos_2_3
http://www.gog.com/game/commandos_ammo_pack

Those give me a 404 and I'm pretty sure it has always been that way (or at least as long as I use GOG).

I`m still getting 404s with both links.

I found another. Mortal Kombat 1+2+3. It`s on my wishlist, but clicking on the link gives me another 404.

This is what I was afraid of when GOG began adding USK ratings to game cards. >_>
What about Harvester? Is it accessible?

Oh wow... guess I should be happy that I am living in Switzerland for the moment... Question is if it is still possible to gift the games. Since then I am sure some trades could be arranged.
^ I can access all the games normally so uhh.. I guess it's not a site bug :(

Yes, that works. I`m currently looking at my library, trying to access the gamecards of all games that are on the index in Germany. Will report my findings when I'm done.
Sheesh. Didn't expect to say this, but now I'm glad that for the moment my country seems content to protect me from harmful influences just by censoring out the face of Ron Jeremy from the label of his namesake rum.
