It is a quite bad PR move to announce the Hotline Miami 2-Preorder, saying we had to lock it for Australia, because otherwise it would not be here, normally we would not do this.

"We hated to hear it as much as you do, but after thoughtful consideration we felt that by refusing to sell the game worldwide, we would effectively apply the Australian censorship to 190+ other countries in the world. That would be unfairly punishing not just to our customers, but also the developers who took a stand against censoring their game."

Next day introducing the german language to the store and region locking 3 games which have been here for years...this sucks balls.

I agree completely.
I stand by my decision. I am boycotting all games released on GOG on or after 25 February 2015 unless regional banning is lifted.

Count me in on that.

Honest opinion?
If introducing a German version of the website brought regional locks for games they should not have done it. Really shitty move and it makes me quite angry.

RadonGOG: I never said something like that. What I´ve told you was that it has been proven with basic calculations-> no discussion has got any sense left. What I do mean with SHUT THE FUCK UP is kind of obvious: I don´t wanna see this discussion in any damn thread to any damn topic reappear. It´s over, due to the fact that it was possible to bring it down to earth, aka a scientific (mathematic) proof and that´s proof results cannot be discussed, only the assumtions that were made to reach the result!

[...]
You're are still dictating that people should not discuss something you don't want to read. As for the arguments you use, there are a number of arguments that have been made and can be made on the scientific mathematical proof - if you have read every discussion on the subject, you must have read them. You may disagree, and that is your prerogative, but that doesn't make them less valid as they're the arguments of those seeing the whole subject differently from you or caring about it and its consequences.

RadonGOG: I[...]

And yes, of course I can say SHUT THE FUCK UP, as this is a more agressive form of "would you please consider to step away from that topic and move on to something that hasn´t been discussed in every detail and got only one proven statement?", nothing more, nothing less and all of that is pretty obvious!
Allow me to disagree with the two phrases being alternatives for each other. The term "consider" by definition gives someone an option as it stands for "think carefully, take into account before making a decision", while the phrase you used is a direct order to cease any and all discussions. And that is without addressing the tone, which can make a big difference on whether you'll be listened to or not.

AlliumSativum: I have bought the Commando games some time ago, it seems they remain in my library. I hope it will last.

JudasIscariot: They're not going anywhere from your library :)
That seems to confirm though that these games were available for purchase to Germans at one time and then IP-banned retroactively, without notice. is that true?

Not being a German speaker I can't say if the change has brought anything of value, but the damage is plain to see and it frightens me to no end.

On the other hand I don't know how they have managed to sell banned games this far. I understand they're blocked in Steam as well? So that was probably one thing that was pulling money this way. What made them did they think this was a net positive?

In any case it's clearly a dick move from gog.com to not only not give any warning but also not even any mention of this among all the Herzlich Willkommen celebrations.

German GOG comes complete with German censorship. Screw that if that's the price for an extra language option.
So first it was just a few games with regional pricing, now it's just a few games with regional lock - and next, just a few games with DRM? Very disappointed in you GOG! You have to change your course soon before you hit the figurative iceberg.

Because they can? Only Polish (maybe Cyprian) law applies to GOG.
The only thing German censors could do would be "banning" the website and so forcing it out of the German Google index.
Some other games got region locked too? Shit....

This is not good, GOG. Not good.

Better see if there are any games I didn't back up yet.

I bought this games in Nov. 2013, I can't say anything about recent IP bans. But I fear, there will be more games, because the german index is fairly extensive: http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kategorie:Indiziertes_Computerspiel
