I think it's pretty DAMN awesome!
I have a twin brother who lives in the middle of nowhere, literally; a cabin, where insulation is practically wood based, damn cold place, mountainous region and internet access is much like democracy in the "Democratic" Republic of the Congo: non-existent ;P
Sooo then I found out about GOG and boy, I'll tell ya that drm-free goodness fits like a glove in our case. Just perfect.
This happened like 7yrs ago. He had a login in here and can't remember the email nor the login. Damn twin bro. Damn, twin bro. Well, we bought like 3 or 4 games, can't remember.
He chose some games once, I bought it cheaply (currency issues were way better back then, but whatever) and drove like 5h+ with a stick. Installed the games, no hassles, worked like a charm; we even did some lan-gaming, much like in the good ol' golden days where fun was somehow limitless...
Once I got home, where internet connection was stable and stuff, I played Gametap (the WORST kinda subscription service on the history of mankind, since Nebuchadnezzar and the foundation of Ur), just to find that their reliable and amazing client was gone, tons of games MISSING and the whole thing was now browser based. Oh, and add some stockpile of nasty virus-infected files with that. Thanks, drm monster aka Gametap ;P
Great titles, though.
TL;DR GOG changed my life, screwed up my wallet and gave me a rare disease found in the tropics called ''el chupacabro backlogo sinistro'', pretty common these days :D
edit: forgot to type that I do it all the time, since I've been on Steam for 13 years almost and always online is not a thing for me. I even "got rid" of my "GOG games on Steam". Called support and they glady deleted it after I wrote "I own this one on GOG.com" ;P
