Awful Library Books (I searched on this thread, but couldn't find whether it was submitted by anyone else...)

This is a site concerning Awful Library Books. That is, books that shouldn't be at a library right now, either because they're old/outdated, in an awful condition, or generally downright weird because of their subject/how they treat it... :-)
It is rather interesting, really, to see, what kind of weird books can be encountered in a public library-and thus, I think this site is good to kill 5 minutes of one's time-as entries get submitted almost on a daily basis.

I see no difference. Is something wrong with my eyes?

Really?! It's so glaringly obvious to me! I suppose it's a good thing. You only have to buy video cards at 1/2 the price to get 30fps. Nice.

Damn, my eyes suck.. But like you said...on the bright side, I can save more money by buying cheaper hardware. ;)

I don't see a difference either.

I've seen lots of those comparisons. The only scenario in which a ever thought I _might_ have seen a difference was a very artificial "lab" setting with a rotating square, with no practical relevance for actual games.

What I did notice, though, is that every single one of those tests _tells_ you beforehand which clip is at 30 fps and which is at 60, thereby making proper testing impossible from the get-go. A proper test would show you a several clips, ask you each time whether you think it was in 30 or 60 FPS, and then show you what your results were on a scale from "everything correct" to "randomly guessed".

What I'd also like to see is a site that shows two identical 30 FPS clips, but presents one of them as an "obvious 60 FPS clip", and then asks the viewer whether he can spot the differences. That could be quite revealing.

I agree that the approach should be more scientific. With proper blinding I'd be very interested in the results. I did find a two part video on YouTube that addressed the issue, but it's 60 vs120 FPS!

Night and day difference. If only YouTube (as well as other places) allowed people to upload 60 FPS footage.
