I disagree. I like a good bit of criticism(even if a bit crudely worded) now and then.....it (along with people answering questions or posting info) gives some added variety to the sea of somewhat similarly written saccharine flavored (thanks/etc) posts.

Also I think what that poster might've been trying(albeit a bit crudely) to express was the general feeling of "new product released, many eager to consume new product" that seems to come about with every rehash(remake/remaster) of an old game/etc.

Nothing wrong with being interested in remastered/enhanced versions. Especially when it's a free update and also includes a completely new episode for you to check out like this one. I don't understand people that complain over a free update that doesn't overwrite the original version at all. It's just another way to experience one of the best fps ever made and that's it. You can play the game using this version, you can still stick to your favorite source port or you can play the original just the way it was released back in 1996. There is no problem here except that we don't know which day exactly this update will be available.

Well yeah, if it's like this one(free to current owners and comes with all future purchases) then it's pretty decent and a few steps above some remakes/remasters.

That said, some other remakes/remasters just upscale the graphics a bit and do some other minor things, and then people get charged 2-3x the price for what used to be included in free mods.

Of course, some people will seem to buy either kind eagerly/readily, and I think it's that sort of "blind consumerism" that some others criticize....and less so remakes/remasters(or people's enjoyment of such) overall.

for gOg and some of the gOg user-base, the problem might lie here:

Not going to lie, that is bad and tbh these Bethesda stunts are getting tiresome and should face pushback. I'm happy i don't work for work GOG in this case because they are pretty stuck between a rock and a hard place here.

Release it and people will be upset over the DRM and they have all the right to be, on other hand there are people who have bought the game and expect all the content to be available and they aren't exactly wrong to feel so either in this case.

Bethesda can shove their bullshit for all i care but it's a corporate desicion and not the employees fault though, i wonder if " however we hope to address this in a future update" this line has something to do with GOGs delayed release or simply a lie to make it sound like they are actually trying to remedy the drm'ed add on issue while in reality setting on their asses doing nothing.

It’s ok, gog can just remain silent and ignore the problem. Their army of defenders will jump on any complaints, as has been pointed out on many products DRM/online gating is perfectly acceptable for GOG.

No, we need to know how they will handle this but it's quite the situation ! it would be shit if it was sneaked in here and even more so long after the purchase when it was made on the terms of being DRM free.

I will just wait it out and see what happens when it's released here, at this point i just hope the update don't screw up the game or i will have to refund even if i have to force them.

Yes, but you must be aware of the standard operating process by now. Unless there is a mass movement of people across platforms (I.e. forum, Reddit, Twitter etc) complaining about something, then they just ignore it. Take no mans sky for instance. There will be nothing from gog, and then the usual lot will be slamming any other post, it’s extra content, you can play the single player game, online is not drm, it’s just cosmetic, it doesn’t say denuvo so it’s all fine etc.

Oh i am aware alright, i just like to keep some optimism that sometimes a situation will be resolved in a way that benefits both parties but we'll see.

No Man's Sky was resolved though, no idea if it was GOGs doing.
